I strongly believe that modern technology is causing people to become more isolated. Although it allows instant communication, it often replaces real-life interactions and weakens social bonds.


One major problem is that people spend excessive time on social media, gaming, or messaging apps instead of interacting face-toface. Teenagers, in particular, often prefer online conversations to meeting friends in person, which reduces opportunities to develop interpersonal and emotional skills. For example, many students spend hours scrolling through social media instead of talking to family members or classmates, which can lead to loneliness and decreased self-esteem.

Moreover, technology encourages superficial connections rather than meaningful relationships. Online interactions are often brief, impersonal, and lack emotional depth. People may have hundreds of “friends” online but feel disconnected in real life. Constant screen use can also negatively affect mental health, increasing stress, anxiety, and social alienation.

To avoid these problems, individuals should limit screen time and prioritize in-person communication. Schools and parents should also encourage activities that strengthen real-world social skills.

In conclusion, while technology seems to connect people, it actually contributes to isolation and weaker social bonds.
