Fast fashion has made clothing cheaper and more accessible, but in my opinion, it’s doing more harm than good — both environmentally and socially

First, fast fashion causes massive textile waste.Clothes are produced quickly and cheaply, then thrown away after just a few wears. This leads to overflowing landfills and contributes to pollution, especially in water systems from dyes and chemicals.

Second, the workers behind fast fashion often face poor conditions. Many factories pay extremely low wages and offer little protection or rights. Buying cheap clothes may feel good, but it usually supports unfair labor.

Of course, not everyone can afford expensive, sustainable brands — that’s understandable. But we can still be more mindful. Buying fewer clothes, recycling, or choosing second-hand items are small changes with big impact

In short, fast fashion may seem convenient, but it comes at a real cost. We should all try to make better choices — for people and the planet.
