Dollar Collapses as If the US Had Lost on All Geopolitical Fronts
The value of the American currency against a basket of world currencies, according to the DXY index, is finishing its worst first half of the year. A drop of 10.38% hasn't been seen in 40 years.
The dollar is weakening, even though US authorities boast about their foreign policy achievements. But the currency tells the opposite story. Social spending from the US budget is being cut at a furious pace: in May, the index of related government spending recorded a record decline. The US population has started spending less (a record since September 2021) and saving less at the same time.
Trump wants the Federal Reserve to lower interest rates and plans to replace the head of the agency with a more obedient person next year, or even sooner. But lowering rates will push the dollar even further down.
Around the world, not only dollars are no longer needed, but also American goods: in May, US exports collapsed by 5.2%, while the negative trade balance increased by 11%. Against this backdrop, the S&P 500 stock index approaching a new all-time high looks like dancing on a grave during a plague.
And yet the US GDP is going down! Against this background, Buffett’s Indicator (the ratio of the total value of US stocks to GDP) has jumped above 200%. Higher than it was at the start of the dot-com bubble (2000) and before the global financial crisis (2007). The market is extremely overheated and will fall very hard.
And yes, US bonds are on sale now.

Semiconductors Are the New Oil – China’s Import Data Shows It
Interestingly, the dynamics of semiconductor and oil imports are roughly aligned. And this makes sense – oil imports reflect industrial activity, and so do semiconductor imports.
The past three years in China (2022–24) have seen stagnation in both oil and semiconductor imports (as well as, apparently, in the Chinese economy as a whole).

Jaguar Sales Drop by 97% After LGBTQ+ Ad with No Mention of Cars
In April across all of Europe, the carmaker sold exactly 49 vehicles. Car enthusiasts did not take kindly to the LGBTQ+-themed advertising and the full shift to electric vehicles with a rejection of internal combustion engines.
Make cars, not gay gadgets. Or go to hell.

USAID Programs Officially Closed by the US
As of yesterday, funding for all "independent" media and NGOs has been completely cut. According to Marco Rubio, the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump analyzed USAID’s spending across thousands of programs and found that over decades of existence, it had spent – adjusted for inflation – more than $715 billion. At the same time, the U.S. Secretary of State called it obvious that the set development goals were never achieved.

BlackRock: They Don’t Profit from the World — They Manage It
BlackRock manages more than $10 trillion in assets. Officially, these are not their funds. These are pension funds, government reserves, and sovereign capitals. For this, they take tiny fees — on average 0.1% — and earn around $6–7 billion in profit per year. To put it into perspective: less than Apple makes in a single quarter. The market capitalization of BlackRock is about $150 billion. And nothing would be wrong with that, if not for one “but”: in essence, it is BlackRock who sits at the wheel of global markets.
Through its ETFs and passive funds, they own significant shares in almost all of the world’s largest companies. They participate in shareholder voting. They influence strategies. They decide who gets funding. This is not just a private business — it's a quiet system of global governance, where you don't even have to be an owner to set the rules.
But now, apparently, this is no longer enough for BlackRock. Under the slogan of "transformation," they announced that by 2030 they want to double their market value to $280 billion and raise $400 billion in private investment business. And here comes the most interesting part: under "private investments," they increasingly mean not just funds, but access to real, critical assets. Assets that cannot be "charted" on paper.
In 2023, BlackRock acquired Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP) — one of the largest private funds in the world, owning transportation and energy infrastructure. Through GIP, they gained control over dozens of ports, including those on both sides of the Panama Canal. That is, now the world’s largest asset manager also controls a key route through which 5% of global trade passes. In the next move, they partnered with Microsoft to build infrastructure for artificial intelligence: data centers, servers, energy — not just "technology," but the actual foundation of the digital world. Meanwhile, they are buying HPS — one of the largest private lenders to the U.S., to control debt capital outside public markets.
Add to this the acquisition of Preqin — a provider of deep equity and infrastructure analytics. Because in the new architecture of influence, control over assets is not enough. You need a monopoly on data about those assets too.
Thus, BlackRock is moving out of the role of a mere administrator. It is no longer just an "ETF company." It's not just about passive strategies and client fees anymore. It's about how, under the pretext of "profit-seeking" and "growth of private equity," a slow privatization of all critical infrastructure is taking place — ports, logistics, energy, and digital hubs.
Before, BlackRock managed the world through algorithms and passive mandates. Now, it does so through warehouses, docks, cables, and data centers. It doesn’t matter who owns the asset. What matters is who controls access to it. And judging by the pace of acquisitions, this formulation will become an official corporate motto by 2030.
So yes, they still don’t “own” the world. But that’s not necessary when you control how it works.

The Big Beautiful Bill – The Most Destructive Section for the US Budget Is the Tax Initiatives
Chapter 1. Permanent TCJA Tax Cuts
Individual income tax rates from 10% to 37%, and increased standard deductions, become permanent. This tax structure was set to expire in 2025.
The standard deduction becomes permanent (set at $23,625 for married couples filing jointly in 2025).
The Child Tax Credit is raised to $2,200 ($1,400 refundable + annual indexing).
Estate and gift tax exemption is set at $15 million per individual.
SALT cap is increased fourfold to $40,000 in 2025–2026 (phased down over time, returning to $10,000 after 2029).
Chapter 2. Temporary Middle-Class Tax Breaks (2025–2028)
Tip exclusion: up to $25,000 with income limits of $150k for individuals and $300k for married couples.
Overtime exclusion: up to $12,500 (single) / $25,000 (joint) with similar income caps.
Auto loan interest deduction: up to $10,000, but only for new American-made vehicles (imports excluded).
Chapters 3–4. Business and Investment Incentives
100% bonus depreciation and immediate expensing of R&D within the U.S. – made permanent.
Investments in poor/underdeveloped areas: program extended indefinitely, with zone reviews every 10 years; new rural zones (+30% base).
Employer tax credits for childcare: rate up to 40% (50% for small businesses), capped at $0.5–0.6 million. That is, up to half of incurred employee childcare costs can be returned.
Employee care for dependents: contribution limit – $7,500 for non-taxable savings accounts.
Reporting threshold for Form 1099 for small business: Payment platforms – more than 200 transactions and over $20,000; contractors – from $600 to $2,000.
Chapter 5. Repeal of “Green” Subsidies
From 2025–2026, credits for EVs, charging stations, home energy retrofits, solar panels, clean hydrogen, and electricity are canceled.
American companies working with firms from “banned countries” (China, Iran, Russia, etc.) lose remaining energy credits.
Chapter 6. Controls and Other Measures
Limit on deducting excessive business losses – made permanent.
1% excise tax on foreign cash/cash-equivalent money transfers.
ERTC: no new applications after January 31, 2024; IRS audit statute of limitations extended to six years.
100% Bonus Depreciation allows businesses to immediately deduct 100% of the cost of purchased equipment from their taxable income in the year of purchase, instead of depreciating it over several years (e.g., 5 or 7 years).
With this benefit, a company can subtract the full capital expenditure from its profit in the year of purchase, freeing up cash flow for potential future investments, but significantly reducing the tax base for the budget.
Immediate R&D Expensing allows businesses to deduct the full cost of their research and development expenses from taxable income in the same year those expenses were incurred.
According to Article 70302 of this bill, this applies to any company, regardless of size or industry, that incurs R&D expenses, but only within the U.S.
The most destructive section for the budget is the permanent and further expanded TCJA tax cuts.

Ursula von der Leyen Demands China to Halt Cooperation with Russia and Lift Restrictions on EU Goods
Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission—who will be the target of a vote of no confidence tomorrow—stated that "China’s unlimited support for Russia creates increased instability and undermines security in Europe." She demanded that China cancel its cooperation with Russia, lift restrictions on EU goods, and stop supporting Chinese manufacturers.
Von der Leyen called for removing privileges granted to Chinese producers, reducing export restrictions on Chinese metals, and lowering the share of Chinese cars in Chinese markets.
She offered no concessions to China in return from the EU.

USAID Sent 11,000 Deadly Viruses to Wuhan Lab Over 10 Years
Newly declassified documents reveal that, under the US government-funded PREDICT program, USAID was involved in studying viruses and shipping them around the world—including to China—over a 10-year period. Among the viruses listed as transferred were close relatives of SARS-CoV-2.
A plot twist: the organization had no legal authority to do so, yet it operated with these viruses for years and sent them to Wuhan.

European Dream: Now Rented Out by Blackstone
The housing crisis, it turns out, is not just an inconvenience. According to Barcelona mayor Jaume Collboni, it now represents as big a threat to the EU as Russia. Yes, you heard right — no jokes, but geopolitics, only with rent. And if in the past trouble came in the form of tanks, now it arrives in the form of a 12-month lease agreement with the right for the landlord to raise the price at their discretion.
And honestly, it’s hard to argue with Collboni. In many European cities, rent now takes up half of people’s income. Home ownership? That’s practically like buying an island — technically possible, but not for you. Prices rise by more than 10% every year, while the number of homeless grows faster than construction volumes. But don’t worry — everything is under control… by the funds.
At the front lines is Blackstone, the titled rental lord of the continent and, incidentally, the largest landlord in Spain (with 40,000 apartments). Financial colonization of housing has been going on for a long time. In 2008, institutional investors held $385 billion in real estate. In 2023, that figure was already $1.7 trillion — a fourfold increase in 15 years. Who said housing is a bad investment?
Tenants? Well, you’re just unlucky you weren’t born into Blackstone. In Ireland, investment funds bought 50% of all new apartments since 2017. In Sweden, they control 25% of the private rental market. In Berlin — 10% of the entire housing stock. Even Vienna, the so-called “social” Vienna — there, one in ten apartments is in the hands of these funds. Where houses used to be built, Excel spreadsheets are now being constructed. Mission? Profit maximization. How? By raising rents, “renovations,” fines, cutting maintenance costs, and evicting tenants. In Stockholm, Blackstone raised rent by 50% after a “renovation.” Because green facades and empty fridges are sustainable development 2.0.
And who allowed all this? You did, dear Europeans. First, you mass-sold public housing — for example, in Berlin, 60,000 apartments went to one hand at prices below market value at the time of writing. Then you liberalized mortgages, encouraged speculation, and voilà — now tenants have no protection, building regulations are weakened, and funds get tax breaks to “invest” in your stress.
The financial sector loves telling how it saves the housing market. Yet even its representatives admit that scarcity is beneficial — it "supports cash flows." More housing? No thanks. If you build — you crash prices, and that's almost revolution. To stimulate or “reduce risks” of private investments, governments across Europe have weakened tenant protections, reduced planning and construction standards, and offered special subsidies, grants, and tax breaks to organizations like real estate investment funds. In London, 30% of new homes fall into this sector. Families — 5%. All others apparently can try cohabiting with hypothetical investment flows. In Manchester and Brussels, micro-apartments are popular — perfect cells for profit maximization and square meter minimization. The smaller, the pricier per square meter.
The people aren't silent. 150,000 people marched in Madrid in the fall of 2024. Some governments, like Denmark and the Netherlands, are trying to rein in speculators. Berliners voted in 2021 for the expropriation of apartments from funds. But under pressure from lobbyists, the initiative conveniently got stuck in legal limbo. In the same year, Blackstone successfully opposed plans to introduce 30% social housing in its portfolios. After all, housing as a right is bad business.
Because yes, this is no longer just a crisis — it's a systemic breakdown, operating exactly as it was designed: housing is not a right, but a commodity. The less of it you have, the more profit they make, the more society gets colonized.

US Department of Defense Signs Strategic Agreement with MP Materials to Build Full Rare Earth Magnet Supply Chain
The US Department of Defense has entered into a strategic agreement with MP Materials to establish a full-cycle rare earth magnet production chain within the country — from raw material extraction to finished product manufacturing. The Pentagon will acquire up to 15% of the company’s shares, becoming its largest shareholder.
The new 10X Facility is expected to become operational by 2028, with an annual production capacity of 10,000 tons. For the next ten years, the Department of Defense will set a minimum price for the product and purchase the entire output. The company will also receive $150 million for processing heavy elements and $1 billion from JPMorgan and Goldman Sachs for construction.

France Records the Sharpest Rise in Distressed Companies in Europe
In 2024, the share of financially troubled companies in France rose to 10.5% — the highest level in recent years. The causes include political instability and a weak economy. The healthcare sector was hit hardest, with 17.3% of companies in crisis.
Germany also saw a rise, with 11.5% of firms in distress — a European record. Businesses are suffering from high energy prices and declining demand.
According to Alvarez & Marsal, more than 30% of European companies have weak balance sheets, and new trade tariffs could worsen the crisis, particularly in the automotive industry as debt repayments approach.
