“ESG ADR Forum Launch Event”

On December 12, 2024, the National Commercial Arbitration Centre (NCAC) represented by Secretary General Ms. MATH Fanita, participated in the launch of the ESG ADR Forum, organized by Legal Plus and L2 i-CON International at the Asian International Arbitration Centre (AIAC) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

To commemorate this significant event, a Bamboo Palm (Chamaedorea seifrizii) was planted, symbolizing resilience, sustainability, and harmony—values central to the ESG ADR Forum and L2’s commitment to fostering innovation and collaboration in global Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) practices.

NCAC is honored to witnessed this symbolic act highlighted the collective responsibility to inspire positive change and emphasized hopeful growth in dispute resolution on both regional and global scales.

Ms. Fanita was also invited to be a panelist in a panel discussion addressing the topic of: “Driving the Future of Responsible ADR,” which focused on how ESG principles can be integrated into Alternative Dispute Resolution. The panelists discussed the role of these principles in promoting sustainable business practices, building trust, and enhancing ethical governance within dispute resolution processes.

Moreover, Mr. Djamel El Akra, a respected NCAC Arbitrator and member of the NCAC Education and Training Committee, participated as a panelist in a discussion at the Launch Event entitled “Resolving ESG-Related Disputes through ADR.” In this session, he collaborated with distinguished international experts to share practical insights and real-world examples of ESG disputes, focusing on effective strategies for their resolution and management.

To mark this memorable occasion, NCAC presented a souvenir to Mr. Hongkit Leong, Co-Founder of L2 i-CON International as a token of appreciation of the invitation and recognizing their significant contributions to advancing responsible ADR practices.

On December 13, 2024, the National Commercial Arbitration Centre (NCAC), represented by Secretary General Ms. Math Fanita, together with Mr. Djamel El Akra, NCAC registered arbitrator member paid a visit to the Asian International Arbitration Centre (AIAC), where they warmly welcomed by Mr. Danesh Chandran Velaitham, Assistant Director of AIAC and his colleagues.

During this engaging visit, representatives from both institutions participated in fruitful discussions, exchanging valuable insights on their respective histories, organizational structures, and case management practices. This collaborative dialogue fostered mutual learning, allowing both centers to explore opportunities for enhancing their operational frameworks.
NCAC sincerely appreciate the cordial reception and generous hospitality, as well as the extensive knowledge shared by AIAC, which will greatly contribute to the advancement of dispute resolution mechanisms and strengthen our frameworks to enhance attractiveness for investors.

បន្ទាប់ពីកិច្ចពិភាក្សាបានបញ្ចប់លោកប្រធាន សាន គីរី បានប្រគល់ជូននូវកន្ត្រកផ្លែឈើអនុស្សាវរីយ៍ ជូនទៅកាន់ឯកឧត្តមបណ្ឌិត ជិន ម៉ាលីន សម្រាប់កិច្ចពិភាក្សាដ៏មានតម្លៃ និងជាប្រយោជន៍ដល់ស្ថាប័នទាំងបី។ លោកប្រធានក៏បានប្រគល់ជូននូវកម្រងស្នាដៃថ្មីរបស់លោកប្រធាន សាន គីរី គឺសៀវភៅមជ្ឈត្តការពាណិជ្ជកម្មនៅកម្ពុជា បោះពុម្ពលើកទី១ ជូនដល់ក្រសួងយុត្តិធម៌ផងដែរ។

On 23 December 2024, the Executive Board Members and NCAC General Secretariat Team, under the direction of Mr. SAN Kiri, President of National Commercial Arbitration Centre (NCAC), had a courtesy meeting and fruitful discussion with His Excellency Dr. CHIN Malin, Permanent Secretary of State of the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) and Vice-Chair of the National Authority for Alternative Dispute Resolution (NADR), Highest Representative of His Excellency KOEUT Rith, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Justice and Chair of NADR.

This courtesy meeting focused on the future collaboration between MoJ, NCAC, and NADR, purposely and significantly to strengthen and modernize the alternative dispute resolution mechanism for solidity and effectiveness. Additionally, the three institutions explored opportunities to jointly organize seminars, webinars, trainings, and international conferences aimed to strengthen the capacity of practitioners and deepening users’ understanding of ADR procedures.

To conclude this significant discussion, Mr. President SAN Kiri, presented fruit baskets to His Excellency Dr. CHIN Malin for the valuable discussion beneficially for the three institutions. In addition, Mr. President also gifted to MoJ with copies of his newly published book namely Commercial Arbitration in Cambodia.
