Dear Fellow Union Members,
You are cordially invited to attend YouthTalk 2020: Hot Take on Climate Change!
YouthTalk is an annual youth engagement initiative organised by NTU Students' Union Ministerial Open Discussions and Events (MODE) Committee for students to voice and exchange their opinions on pertinent social issues. It is through YouthTalk that NTUSU MODE hopes to be able to empower students from all walks of life in shaping the future that they and fellow Singaporeans aspire for.
There has been much emphasis on climate change and sustainability efforts, especially due to the recent global events such as the Bushfires in Australia and the World Economic Forum where global leaders gather to discuss challenges facing the planet – including climate.
In this series of YouthTalk, we will be discussing with Guest Speaker Dr Amy Khor, Senior Minister of State in the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources, Nor Lastrina Hamid, Co-Founder of Singapore Youth for Climate Change and Pek Hailin, Manager at Zero Waste SG about the future of Singapore, what we can do as Youths and many more!
Date: 30th Jan 2020, Thursday
Time: 6.30pm – 9pm (Registration opens at 6pm)
Venue: Global Lounge @ North Spine
Dinner reception will be provided.
In the interest of being sustainable, we encourage all participants to bring their own non-disposable bowls and cutlery set to the event.
If you are interested to attend Youth Talk 2020: Hot Take on Climate Change, kindly register here: https://wis.ntu.edu.sg/webexe88/owa/REGISTER_NTU.REGISTER?EVENT_ID=OA20012023042050.

Dear Fellow Union Members,
NTUSU understands that Singapore has raised its Disease Outbreak Response System Condition (DORSCON) level to Orange from Yellow earlier today, in response to the several cases of novel coronavirus without any links to previous cases or travel history to mainland China.
DORSCON Orange means that the disease is deemed severe and spreads easily from person to person, but has not spread widely and is being contained.
NTUSU is currently monitoring the novel coronavirus situation closely with the school management and will be stepping up precautionary measures. We would like to remind students of the following:
Large-scale Events
Should you have plans to organise any large-scale events, please ensure that you practice additional precautionary measures:
- Ensure minimal interaction and contact between all participants.
- Remind all participants not to attend the event should they feel sick.
- Provide an alternative platform for participants to attend (i.e Live streaming, video recording, etc.).
Temperature Taking
All students should take their temperature at least twice daily, and anyone with a fever or is unwell should see a doctor immediately. Additionally, temperature taking stations will be set up across the NTU campus premises as an extra precautionary measure.
Individuals who are unwell, on Leave of Absence, or have recent travel history to mainland China should not attend all classes and events on campus.
Travel Declaration
Please look out for a compulsory follow up travel declaration form that will be sent out to all students on Monday. Please ensure your completion of the form as soon as possible. We seek your understanding and cooperation.
Contact Tracing
There will be more contact tracing measures on campus as a precaution of local transmission. Please help to play your part by completing the follow up travel declaration that will be sent out next week. More measures to follow.
NTUSU would also like to remind students to follow the MOH advisory to remain vigilant and adopt good personal hygiene practices at all times.
Should you feel unwell, please seek medical attention early at Fullerton Healthcare @ NTU or the nearest General Practitioner.
For more updates on the novel coronavirus situation, please visit www.moh.gov.sg. NTUSU will also be updating our social media channels (via our Instagram, Facebook and Telegram channel) regularly to inform students on the developments and measures taken by NTU.
Should you have any concerns or queries regarding the matter, please write in to su-feedback@e.ntu.edu.sg or SAOstudentsupport@ntu.edu.sg.
