What are some precautionary measures the school and NTUSU have undertaken in light of COVID-19?
The school has implemented several measures in light of the COVID-19 situation. These include precautions to safeguard students' health and safety:
- Mandatory Temperature Taking exercise
- Temperature Screening Stations around school with higher human traffic
- Movement to Online Classes for classes with more than 50 people
- Events limited to 50 participants within the venue
- Organisers instructed to ensure minimal interaction and contact between participants
- Tour agencies informed to refrain from bringing tourists into campus premises
While other precautionary measures taken to aid in contact tracing should potential cases arise:
- Venue QR Code Scanning
- Update of contact information and travel declaration
Additionally, NTUSU has also been in weekly meetings with the school management to address students' feedback and concerns. For one, NTUSU has requested for additional sanitation measures for high volume areas like tutorial rooms and canteens and this has been implemented by the university.
NTUSU will continue to provide regular updates and inform students to adopt additional precautionary measures, where necessary, while ensuring minimal disruptions to students’ daily activities.

What has NTUSU done to improve the campus transportation system?
NTUSU and Housing and Auxiliary Services (HAS) have been consistently working together to improve the transportation services on campus. Such efforts include:
- Review of NTU’s Campus Transport System for changes to be implemented to the system (i.e adding more buses, improving the quality of service, reducing bunching and increasing information)
- Express shuttle bus services to alleviate hotspots
- Regular meetings with HAS and presentation of feedback on campus transportation from students
- Daily analysis and monitoring to alleviate bunching of buses
- Additional sanitation measures (i.e daily disinfecting) for shuttle buses, in light of the COVID-19 situation
It is an ongoing effort between NTUSU and HAS to improve the transportation services on campus, thus we hope to seek your understanding and patience in this matter.

Removal of chairs in canteens
NTUSU understands that all canteens have had chairs removed to prevent students from dining at the canteens effective this afternoon.
To our understanding, this decision was made following NEA’s inspection of NTU canteens earlier this morning and is part of social distancing efforts to ensure the health and safety of all Union Members and the NTU community.
As fellow students, we comprehend the inconveniences this measure may bring. NTUSU had not been consulted on this implementation, but recognises that these measures were made with the best intentions to achieve social distancing purposes. We are currently working with HAS to mitigate issues that have stemmed from these changes.
In the meantime, we thank students for your understanding and cooperation on this matter. We encourage students to continue practicing social responsibility, and support social distancing measures across all activities. Should you have any concerns, please write to us at su-feedback@e.ntu.edu.sg.
