Updates on Travel and Exchange
Following updates from NTU Management were made in view of stricter border controls by the Government, and requirements for all Long-Term Pass (LTP) holders, incl. Student’s Pass (STP) and Dependant’s Pass (DP) holders, to obtain prior approval before entering Singapore
Overseas Travel
⁃ NTU will no longer grant approval for any official or personal travels
⁃ Student's Pass holders: Should you wish to return to your home country, it is unlikely to get approval from the authorities to return to Singapore until border controls are lifted
⁃ International students: Should you choose to return home, be prepared to be served 1 or possible 2 semesters' Leave of Absence (LOA)/ until approval is granted for your return by the Singapore Government
Overseas Exchange for AY20/21 Semester 1
⁃ All programmes (incoming and outgoing) are suspended until further notice
⁃ Students are advised to make alternate plans and are required to register for NTU courses for AY2020/2021 Semester 1 in June 2020
⁃ Affected students should approach their respective School undergraduate coordinators for assistance and advice

20-cent Waiver
- Following the University's advisory, the 20-cent surcharge is lifted only for takeaway plastic bags for all F&B operators until further notice
- Charges for takeaway boxes and disposable cutleries still apply and varies across vendors
- In line with NTUSU’s Union Vision 2020, we would like to encourage our Union Members to opt for more cost and environmentally-friendly options (i.e bringing your own re-usable containers/cutleries for takeaways)
United Effort
- Continue practicing safe distancing between you and others
- Maintain at least a metre gap especially when queue or waiting
- Do not attend or hold gatherings with more than 10 people
- Avoid meeting in person and minimise people-to-people interactions whenever possible

NTUSU supports all students: Aid for students affected by trip suspension
NTUSU understands the challenges faced by students who had their overseas programmes suspended in view of the COVID-19 situation. We have been working closely with the University Management to ensure that these students are equitably supported.
1. Reimbursements
- Upon taking NTUSU's feedback into consideration, the University will be reviewing claims of students regarding additional essential expenses incurred due to having to cut short their overseas programme (i.e costs for change in flight bookings or cancellation fees, visa fees, and accommodation)
- Procedures and FAQs will be provided shortly
2. Academic
- Arrangements will be made for students who are unable to complete credit transfer due to the trip suspension
- Students are advised to review study plans with their faculties and explore possible course options for special terms and AY20/21 Semester
- This is to cushion the impact of the disruption and prevent delay in graduation

COVID-19: Updates (26 May 2020)
The Ministry of Health has identified two locations at Jurong Point (NTUC FairPrice outlet and Shokutsu Ten Japanese Food Street) as public places visited by people infected with COVID-19 for more than 30 minutes.
As a precautionary measure, please monitor your health closely for 14 days if you had patronised the places during these periods:
• 4:30pm to 6:00pm on May 20 at NTUC FairPrice
• 5:30pm to 6:30pm on May 21 at Shokutsu Ten Japanese Food Street
The ministry added that they have already notified those who had been identified as close contacts of confirmed cases.
Patrons of the mall who visited these locations at the specified date and time should see a doctor promptly and inform them of their exposure history, should they develop symptoms of acute respiratory infection (such as cough, sore throat and runny nose), as well as fever and loss of taste or smell.
