Хорошая статья из блога известного философа Thomas R. Well-а о том, почему справедливость на рынке труда (отношение к работающим женщинам, равные зарплаты и мужчин, и женщин, уравненные условия выхода в отпуск, и т.д.) НЕ абсолютный показатель существующего гендерного неравенства в обществе. Да, справедливость на рынке труда - это очень важно, но если копать глубже, мы натыкаемся на куда более глубокую и вездесущую проблему: действительно ли наши социальные институты предоставляют мужчинам и женщинам равные возможности?
Цитата (в переводе):
“Равенство возможностей - очень базовая идея, которая не имеет ничего общего с предположением о том, чего действительно хотят женщины. На самом деле равенство возможностей должно быть слепо к предпочтениям женщин. Хотят ли женщины быть домохозяйками, физиками, программистами, менеджерами или хирургами, не имеет значения. Нужно только, чтобы если у женщин были такие предпочтения, они были бы способны свободно их реализовывать, по крайней мере, так же свободно, как и мужчины. “
Статья конструктивно и широко написана, с примерами и моделями поведения современных семей. Автор адресует систематичные проблемы социальных институтов и то, как они укрепляют гендерное неравенство, а также предлагает эффективный (в плане потенциала порождать социальные и, главное, политические инициативы в решении проблемы неравенства гендеров), хоть и для некоторых достаточно радикальный и не совсем применимый в Казахстане метод борьбы против гендерного неравенства путем выплаты репарации женщинам.
