We are happy to introduce our new rubric “Meet the Prof” that will help you know more about our Professors from Computer Science department at Nazarbayev University 👨🏫
There are 3 main topics we interviewed our Professors on «Meet the Prof»:
⚡️ Personal life
⚡️ Research field
⚡️ Advices for the course
The first Professor that will begin our rubric is our beloved Professor Ben Tyler. In today’s post he will share his advices on how to sucessfully pass CSCI 152 - most freshmen CS students’ upcoming course.
You will find a lot of helpful insights about the course in our interviews, so we suggest you to save and share it with those who have registered CSCI 152 for the spring semester💥
Stay tuned and wait for our next 2 Professors, who will share useful information on 200 and 300 level CS courses and many more things 🤩

Dear Friends!
We’re excited to invite you to our first of two sessions of the discussion of the book The Gendered Brain: The new neuroscience that shatters the myth of the female brain, by Professor Gina Rippon
Professor Gina Rippon is an international researcher in the field of cognitive neuroscience based at the Aston Brain Centre at Aston University in Birmingham. In her book The Gendered Brain: The new neuroscience that shatters the myth of the female brain, she explores the existing gendered brain myth and opposes it with the recent neuroscience research.
In this two-session book discussion, we will talk over our current beliefs about the female and male brains, challenge these beliefs by reading The Gendered Brain, and then reflect upon how the book changed our view on the topic. ✨
We do not expect participants to read the book before this session, everyone is welcome to share their opinions!
What will this session look like?
📍Participants will share their thoughts on whether there is a difference between the female and male brain
📍We will listen to Professor Gina Rippon describing her professional journey and the writing process
📍We will pick up any knowledge needed before reading the book
Date: 21st of December
Time: 19:00 (UTC+06:00)
Venue: Google Meets

Description of the contest:
Problems will be solved individually, but we will split participants into two groups. 🏴☠️
Specifically, you will shoot opponents' ships according to problems that you have solved. 🤯
There will be a SpreadSheet with two boards, where you will check if you missed or hit a ship. In the end, we will reveal what ships were destroyed in each team. 🏆
Hurry up and register here for the "Sea Battle" contest right now! 🥳
