Hackerschool Week 9: Spec-Driven Development with Google Antigravity

πŸ“… Tuesday, 13 October, 7:00–9:00 pm
πŸ“ SR14 @ COM3-01-23
πŸ₯€ Refreshments will be served!

Ever wondered how you could turn live NUS campus data into your own interactive application?

Join us for a hands-on workshop with Google Cloud, where you'll build your own 3D interactive map of NUS, complete with live campus data and animated shuttle buses moving around campus! 🚌

Using Google Antigravity, we will explore Spec-Driven Development in VS Code, where you get to set up architectural rules and API contracts, then guide the AI agent to generate, verify, and debug each layer of the application.

Along the way, you'll build a 3D campus map using Next.js, MapLibre GL JS and Three.js, visualise building energy usage with data from the NUS Digital Twin API, and track NUS shuttle buses in real time using the NUS NextBus API. By the end of the workshop, you'll have a full-stack application ready to deploy on Vercel! πŸš€

After the hands-on workshop, we'll also have a panel discussion with engineers from Google, followed by an opportunity to network and chat with the speakers about software engineering, careers at Google, and their experiences in the industry. πŸ‘€

πŸ’» Before the session:
Please bring a laptop with Node.js 18+ and VS Code installed.

πŸ€– Using Antigravity:
SoC students should activate their NUS-provided Gemini Enterprise & Antigravity access here before the session.
Non-SoC and non-NUS participants can participate with a regular Google account.

Hackerspace Week 9: Campus Hacks

What’s one thing about school life that you always wanted to improve?

Some of the tools students now rely on started from exactly that kind of frustration. NUSMods, for example, turned the pain of planning modules and timetables into something genuinely useful.

This week, we’re challenging you to do the same! Join us for a chill and beginner-friendly mini hackathon, where you’ll build solutions that make student life better.

No need to come with a team or a fully formed idea, just come ready to build, experiment and have fun! No hackathon experience needed, beginners are very welcome! And yes, there’ll also be a small prize up for grabs! πŸ‘€βœ¨

πŸ“… Date: Wednesday, 14 October 2026
πŸ•’ Time: 3pm - 6pm
πŸ“ Venue: COM3-01-21 (SR12)

πŸͺ Refreshments will be served as well, so come join in on the fun!
