We're thrilled to share the release of Pactus version 0.19.0, packed with essential improvements for a better blockchain experience.
Highlights:
- Improved overall performance with the implementation of PIP-15, introducing caching algorithms for frequently used items in the database.
- Enhanced connectivity of nodes in the P2P network for a smoother interaction.
Availability Score:
- Introducing PIP-19, this version assigns an "Availability Score" to each validator based on their committee activities.
- Validators with a score less than 0.8 won't receive block rewards, preventing downgrades in node specifications and discouraging the use of low-resource machines.
Breaking Change:
- The Docker container now includes both daemon and wallet binary files.
- Docker users should update their entry points to run Pactus.

Kindly read and adhere to the points below for crucial details. Additionally, ensure you're using the latest Pactus version v0.20.1 for a seamless experience. Thank you for your participation and dedication to the Pactus ecosystem!
Snapshot Period:
The snapshot period is set from Jan 18th 2024 to Jan 21st 2024.
Validators' Responsibilities:
Participants must actively run and maintain their Pactus nodes, ensuring stability and continuous operation throughout the entire snapshot period.
Snapshot Timing:
Snapshots will be taken randomly multiple times during the period, and specific start and end times will not be disclosed in advance for fairness.
Eligibility & Criteria:
To be eligible for rewards, nodes must pass snapshots by meeting performance and network rule adherence criteria. Validators are required to ensure accurate and up-to-date information for their nodes.
Exclusion for Non-Compliance:
Nodes not meeting snapshot criteria will be excluded from reward distribution. Those found in violation, engaging in actions contrary to fair participation, may also be subject to exclusion.
