Following our investigation, we’re thankful to report that no profitable attack vectors were found in the Aura Pools.
However, there was a complex method to potentially grief the pools, causing holders to incur a loss.
Given the complexity, cost of attack, and unprofitability of such a method, along with the lowered TVLs ($16.3M to $2M currently), we believe the risk has sufficiently decreased.
However, we will continue to strongly encourage LPs in the old pools to migrate liquidity. Pendle Pools are immutable and will continue to function.
We’ve done what we can to mitigate any potential griefing attacks. No funds have been lost, and the chances of an attack decreases each time the TVL of the old pools are lowered. A full post-mortem report will be shared later once TVL has been further reduced.
What’s next? The change required to remove the griefing angle was relatively minor and has already been audited.
We’ve a new supported LSD with StaFi coming onboard with seed liquidity and Pendle locking – Their pool is now open for voting with incentives going live on Thursday.
