1⃣One author and both section editors typically prescribe once-daily medications in the morning rather than the evening. This approach is supported by the European Society of Hypertension (ESH).
2⃣The other author prescribes once-daily drugs in the evening (between 6 and 8 PM [between 18:00 and 20:00]), except for diuretic medications (which are prescribed in the morning), unless the patient has glaucoma. Patients with glaucoma, particularly open-angle glaucoma, should not be prescribed antihypertensive medicines at night.
