Who will be eligible in JNU PhD Admission 2026-27?
In 2026-27, JNU PhD Admission using UGC-NET Score Dec 2025 & June 2026 score Based Admission.
JNU has decided their entire seats in 3 categories.
1: JRF Category
2: Entrance Category
3: Gate Category
Now according to UGC NET Score Based Admission adopted by JNU.
Eligibility:
JRF Category: All JRF (UGC-JRF/CSIR-JRF, ICMR-JRF, DBT-JRF, NHBM-JRF Only)
Entrance Category: Only December 2025 Qualified and June 2026 (JRF/NET/PhD Admission Only)
Note:
1: If you have JRF before Dec 2025, You can apply only in Exempt Category/JRF Category only.
2: If you have JRF before Dec 2025 and Qualified June 2026(JRF/NET/PhD Admission): You are eligible to apply in Both Category JRF Category and Entrance Category.
3: If you have nothing (JRF, NET, PhD Admission Qualified): You are not eligible to apply.
4: We have to apply 2 Different Application Form for JRF Category and UGC NET Category.
5: In 1 Application Form, we can apply for maximum 3 Subject.
6: In JRF Category, Only UGC-JRF, CSIR-JRF, ICMR-JRF, DBT-JRF, NHBM-JRF will be considered in JRF Category, (NFSC, NFOBC, NFPwD, MANF, NFST will not be considered under JRF Category)
7: Entrance Category = UGC-NET Percentile Based Admission
8: They'd ask research proposal after just before interview, not while applying forms.
9: You can give your interview in English/Hindi language.
10: Merit List Preparation:
JRF Category: 100% of your Viva.
UGC NET Category: 70% of your NET Percentile+30% VIVA
11: All three Categories of UGC-NET December 2025, June 2026 can apply in UGC NET Category.

Admission Category:
1: Admission will be done in 2 Phases.
Eligibility:
Category 1: All JRFs are eligible
Category 2 & 3: December 2025 & June 2026
Note* JRFs within Validity Period holders are eligible to apply whatever the session they're.
Preference in Admission:
JRF Students will be given first priority in Admission. If still seats remained vacant, candidates from Block B may be considered.
Merit List Prepare:
70% of NET Marks/Percentile + 30% Interview.
Fees:
750: UR/EWS/OBC-NCL
300: SC/ST/PwBD
Interview will be conducted between From 21 October 2026 till 31 October 2026
