The Main Intelligence Directorate published a video of the destruction of the large landing ship "Caesar Kunikov"

What is known so far:

➡️The ship was attacked by Magura V5 maritime attack drones;

➡️The ship received critical holes on the port side and began to sink;

➡️The search and rescue operation of the occupiers was not successful.

➡️Caesar Kunikov is one of the newest Russian ships that has not yet been used in the war against Georgia, Syria and Ukraine. It could accommodate 87 crew members.

Caesar Kunikov, in whose honor the defeated VDK was named - died on February 14, exactly 81 years ago.

The BDK Caesar Kunikov, which sank this morning, went through an interesting battle path, so to speak in relation to the ship.

After the famous forced march of the Airborne Forces to Pristina in 1999 and the agreements reached as a result, “Caesar Kunikov” participated in the transfer of the future Russian contingent as part of KFOR from the port of Tuapse to the Greek port of Thessaloniki.

During the war in Georgia in 2008, Caesar Kunikov led a group of ships of the Black Sea Fleet that fought with Georgian boats off the coast of Abkhazia.

During the Russian military operation in Syria since 2015, Caesar Kunikov was an active participant in the Syrian Express, transporting weapons, ammunition, supplies and personnel to Syria and back.

The last serious incident in the career of Caesar Kunikov was the strike by the Ukrainian Tochka-U on the port of Berdyansk in 2022, where he and a group of other large landing craft unloaded equipment and supplies for the group in the Mariupol direction. The ship was damaged, but was repaired and returned to service.
