@powerMILLTraining-Automatic Orientation Vectors - PowerMill 2019.2 Update

PowerMill uses orientation vectors to precisely control 5-axis CNC machine motion and ensure the machine positions the rotary axes as required. PowerMill 2019.2 enhances this with the addition of a new automatic option which should help ensure the machine motion you see during toolpath simulation will be the same motion you see on the actual CNC machine tool.

@powerMILLTraining-Speed and Usability - PowerMill 2019.2 Update

PowerMill 2019.2 includes multiple improvements to speed and usability. Common tasks which have been improved include:

* Simulation and verification (up to 70% faster)
* NC program creation (up to 90% faster)
* Opening/closing projects (up to 90% faster)
* Tool database (up to 80% faster)

These are in addition to improvements made in 2019.1:

* 3D offset finishing (up to 70% faster)
* Area clearance with step-up (up to 95% faster)
* Adding setups to NC programs (up to 18 x faster)

PowerMill 2019.0 introduced automatic collision avoidance to simplify the programming of 5-axis parts. Using real customer examples, this function has been improved to find more solutions which may have been missed in previous releases. This enhancement gives CAM programmers even more confidence that parts are machined fully and safely.

@powerMILLTraining-3+2 Arc Output - PowerMill 2019.2 Update

PowerMill 2019.2 now allows the output of 3+2 toolpaths that combine arcs with orientation vectors. In previous versions, the arc moves would be converted into linear moves. This latest enhancement results in the arcs being output as circular interpolated (G2/G3) moves - reducing NC program filesize, improving surface finish, and shorter cycle times.
