🚨 The SEC and CFTC are no longer waiting on the CLARITY Act.

Regulators have already made at least 9 major moves toward building a clearer crypto regulatory framework without waiting for Congress:

1. SEC Crypto Task Force

➡️Define what is — and isn’t — a security.

2. Project Crypto

➡️ Modernize SEC rules for on-chain markets.

3. SEC–CFTC Crypto Guidance

➡️Create clearer categories for crypto assets.

4. SEC–CFTC Harmonization MOU

➡️Reduce regulatory overlap between the two agencies.

5. Joint Harmonization Initiative

➡️Develop coordinated rules for crypto firms.

6. CFTC Innovation Task Force

➡️Accelerate regulatory work around crypto and blockchain markets.

7. CFTC Crypto FAQs

➡️ Clarify how registered firms can use blockchain technology.

8. SEC Innovation Exemption

➡️ Enable tokenized U.S. stocks to trade on-chain.

9. CFTC Proposed Crypto Market Rule

➡️ Establish a formal framework for crypto asset markets.

Bottom line ⬇️

Crypto regulation may be moving forward even without the CLARITY Act.

🚨 Senate Democrats voted 53–47 against moving forward with a bill that would require photo voter ID and restrict stock trading by members of Congress. The bill needed 60 votes, so it failed.

🔴 The House had already passed it 232–198. Democrats said they opposed the voter ID requirement and other parts of the bill.

🔴 The vote is likely to become a major issue in the November midterm elections.

🇺🇸 U.S. Senate Republicans have officially introduced a new crypto tax bill.
