I don’t think people understand how fucking ridiculous the 十八Bro is.

A real black cat walks into a 7-Eleven in Hong Kong, steals chips, gets caught on CCTV and goes viral.

Instead of farming the moment and moving on, 7-Eleven turned the cat into an actual IP.

They tracked him down, adopted him as their mascot, held an employee vote on the name and called him 十八Bro, based on the markings on his forehead resembling “18”.
Also 7+11 =18.

Then they went further.

They created a dedicated Instagram account: @18bro.the.blackcat, started consistently producing content around him, pushed him across 7-Eleven stores in Hong Kong, and began treating 十八Bro like an actual character/brand.

And DFI Retail Group has now publicly on Linkedin called 十八Bro their “very own IP character”, specifically mentioning plans to extend him beyond stores through merchandise, collaborations and storytelling.

Read that again.

A multi-billion-dollar retail group is literally building the lore for us.

Meanwhile we have 十八Bro on BSC chain an asian dominant chain.

Viral cat + $QQQB rewards/RWA meme, while the actual character continues getting marketed IRL by fucking 7-Eleven.

We’ve already seen what can happen when the market catches onto the animal + rewards narrative.

Now imagine that narrative attached to a viral cat whose underlying IP is actively being built and distributed by one of Asia’s biggest retail groups.

Most memes have to manufacture lore.
