The Public Broadcaster Network, which is an important tool for people and wallets that use RAILGUN, uses the Waku system for encrypted communication (waku.org)

They are both great decentralized systems.
RAILGUN works without public broadcasters, so they are not essential for the system, but using them together with RAILGUN gives more complete p2p privacy than any other system that exists.

Engine:
Contributors have researched and implemented new methods for decrypting UTXOs, pulling RAILGUN_ TXIDs from Subsquid and PPOI checks in Engine for better reliability and increased speed.

These changes should give wallet providers a better way to implement balance scanning and initial PPOI generation on load-in. Further, it should give developers better granularity into how far along balance scanning is in the process. 

Wallet:
PPOI architecture has been shifted to batch downloading for significant performance gains. Previous implementations were overloading PPOI infrastructure (since new PPOI deployments across BSC, Arbitrum and Polygon) and this significantly reduces load while increasing speed. 

Broadcaster & Waku:
Broadcaster updates have increased response and messaging reliability while still preventing message spamming. Broadcasters should update to the newest example and wallet providers should update to the newest waku-broadcaster-client where possible. 

Contributors have just researched and implemented a new methods for Waku subscribes and unsubscribes to content topics that previously were causing "listening" issues. Messaging retries were reworked along with polling etc. to prevent broadcast failure loops and restart sequences were reorganized to better identify disconnects to ensure reliability.
