F5 GSLB (Global Server Load Balancing) is a feature of F5 BIG-IP DNS that allows you to distribute traffic across multiple data centers based on various criteria such as location of the user, server availability and performance, or company policy.
F5 GSLB uses intelligent name resolution to resolve DNS queries and return an IP address to route the user to the data center that is closest to the user or has the best performance or based on company policy.
In this section we will also understand the concept of F5 Wide IP.

4- آماده سازی لابراتوار F5 AWAF بخش سوم / نرم‌افزار mitmproxy
در این بخش با نشان دادن بعضی از vulnerability های web application ای که در بخش قبل آماده کردیم، شروع می‌کنیم و با این بهانه نرم‌افزار جدیدی را معرفی و نصب و تست می‌کنیم که وظیفه تحلیل و دستکاری ترافیک وب با هدف حمله را بر عهده دارد. ما از نرم‌افزار mitmproxy در ظول دوره استفاده خواهیم کرد. نرم‌افزار fiddler نسخه تجار mitmproxy است که کار مشابه را انجام می دهد.

5- مروری بر Web Applications

In this section, we will explore how to configure F5 DNS GSLB with two F5 devices, each with both DNS and LTM modules, in different data centers.
With F5 DNS GSLB, we can distribute traffic between data centers. With F5 LTM, we can distribute traffic locally among servers in each data center.
We will also learn how to monitor the health and performance of remote F5 devices by using iQuery protocol and big3d agent with the “bigip_add” tool, and how to synchronize the GSLB configuration between F5 devices by using iQuery protocol and the “gtm_add” tool.

6- پیاده‌سازی اولین application security policy و بررسی مولفه های آن
همانطور که می‌دانید در بخش‌های قبلی بستری را آماده کردیم که از طریق F5 می‌توانیم به وب سرویس آسیب‌پذیر دترسی پیدا کنیم و حملاتی را انجام دهیم
در این بخش اولین application security policy را پیاده‌سازی می‌کنیم که ترافیک های منتهی به این وب سرویی را مانیتور و کنترل می کند.
اگر چه در این بخش کنترلهای خاصی انجام نمی‌دهیم ولی در قالب این policy با مفاهیم و مولفه های اولیه آن آشنا خواهیم شد.

9- تنظیم کردن security policy

معمولاً در ابتدای قرار گیری F5 AWAF جلوی یک application،ایتدا یک policy بر اساس یک template آماده فعال می‌کنیم و آن را در مد Learning (transparent) قرار می دهیم.
سپس بر اساس event log ها و پیشنهاد های یادگیری، تصمیم می گیریم، که این ترافیک violation نیست و بنابراین پیشنهاد یادگیری را accept می کنیم. و یا اینکه این ترافیک واقعاً violation است و باید بعد از این block شود.
برای block کردن ترافیک، علاوه بر آنکه باید policy در حالت blocking باید، گزینه blocking باید در تنظیمات violation هم فعال باشد. علاوه بر این موارد اگر ترافیک violation با attack signature مطابقت داشته باشد، attack signature مربوطه هم باید در از حالت staging خارج شده و در حالت enforce قرار یگیرد.
