What do you guys use to protect your phone if it gets lost or stolen?
had my phone stolen recently and luckily managed to get it back
got me thinking about how finding a phone you misplaced and getting back one that was actually stolen are two very different things
do you guys actually find Google's Find Hub or Samsung Find useful when a phone gets stolen?
curious if anyone here has managed to recover a stolen phone using these tools

How often do you clean out old apps from your phone?
I just realized I have a bunch of apps I haven't opened in months. Do you do a regular cleanup, or just let them pile up until storage runs out?

"Emergency" Lockscreen mistranslation in German
# TL;DR:
Lock screen: German button label "Notruf" must be "Notfall"
Lock Screen in German reads "emergency call" instead of emergency", potentially deterring live saving rescue personnel from accessing it, since it sounds like they would call their own hotline instead of accessing vital medical information.
/Tl;DR
On a locked, up to date android device in Germany, the Button labeled "Notruf" (emergency call) opens not only the emergency dialer but also the Emergency Information (blood type, allergies, medications, emergency contacts). The German label suggests it only places a call. First aiders and bystanders looking for that information have no reason to tap it, and some may avoid it for fear of accidentally calling 112 (emergency hotline in Europe).
The English source label is "Emergency", not "Emergency call". Other languages translate it correctly (Urgence, Emergencia, Emergenza, Noodgeval). Android's own German power menu already uses the correct translation "Notfall", as does the iPhone.
Change "Notruf" to "Notfall". It is a single string change with no layout risk, and it is potentially life-saving, because responders and first aiders would find critical medical information faster instead of being deterred.
I can't screenshot the Lockscreen top show the difference to the power menu. But since i lost a family member yesterday I want to bring attention to this issue and hope somebody can assist in correcting this very easy, potentially live saving issue. The wrong translation is also being applied to all current android devices set to German language locale, so potential impact is much larger than only pixel devices.

I’m genuinely starting to wonder if I’ve misunderstood Android users.
I launched my app on both platforms. Same features, same pricing, same experience.
But the difference in interest has been pretty surprising.
It’s a health journaling app. Nothing that relies on Apple’s ecosystem or gives iPhone users an advantage.
So what’s going on?
Do Android users expect more from free apps? Is it a subscription thing? Or is the Play Store just terrible for discovering smaller apps?
I’m not here to argue that one platform is better than the other. I’m actually trying to figure out what Android users value that I might be missing.
And if you’re thinking “maybe your app just isn’t that good”, fair enough. I’d genuinely like to hear why.
