In this presentation I chart a succinct intellectual history of the myth of progress and how it has been embedded, and is still embedded, in the claims of science and technology. Furthermore, I aim to show how transhumanism depends upon and extends this rampant and robust myth and that its enthusiasts subsequently derive religious value from it. First, I begin with the claims of this myth of progress and try to arrive at some characterizing features of it. Next I turn to the origins of this myth of progress and how it became entwined with the claims of technoscience leading to its prominence in the 19th century. I then turn to the first part of the 20th century when this myth is seriously questioned and the entire edifice of the Modern project begins to crumble at its base. From here I focus on more recent technoscientific utopias that culminate in transhumanism and show a propensity in taking up this myth once again. Finally, I give several comments on the religious dimensions of transhumanism and assert that the myth of progress is one of its core doctrines.
Dr Michael Burdett is Assistant Professor of Christian Theology at the University of Nottingham and an associate of the Ian Ramsey Centre for Science and Religion, University of Oxford. Before becoming an academic and completing his DPhil at the University of Oxford, Michael worked in the aerospace and robotics industries for several years working with a firm that had contracts with NASA and JPL. He holds degrees in engineering, physics, and theology and has been given academic and professional awards in each field.

It was the body of an e-mail on which I was a recipient.
The author agreed I could share the anonymised body text. Please review. It’s pretty damning.
Sedatives have no place in the management of a respiratory tract infection & anything that affects the breathing reflex is contraindicated. Midazolam and morphine individually do this & in combination are often lethal.

◦ Supplies of the sedative midazolam have been diverted from France as a “precaution” to mitigate potential shortages in the NHS caused by COVID-19, the DHSC has told The Pharmaceutical Journal.
◦ One of five manufacturers of the drug told The Pharmaceutical Journal that it had to gain regulatory approval to sell French-labelled supplies of midazolam injection to the NHS, after having already sold two years’ worth of stock to UK wholesalers “at the request of the NHS” in March 2020.
◦ Midazolam is listed by the Royal College of Anaesthetists as a “first-line” sedative in the management of COVID-19 patients, and warns in guidance published on 2 April 2020 that it “may be subject to demand pressure”.
◦ Matt Hancock, the UK health secretary, told the House of Commons Health and Social Care Select Committee on 17 April 2020 that intensive therapy unit medicines — including midazolam — are part of “a delicate supply chain” as they “are made in a relatively small number of factories around the world”.
◦ A spokesperson from Accord Healthcare told The Pharmaceutical Journal on 11 May 2020 that it was out of stock of midazolam injection after the NHS requested it “place all of its stock of midazolam — equivalent to around two year’s forecasted supply — into its wholesale partners”, even though the manufacturer “does not currently have any NHS contracts in England” to supply the drug.
◦ As a result of the NHS request [in March 2020], we are subsequently out of stock,” said Peter Kelly, managing director of Accord Healthcare.
◦ the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) had given the manufacturer approval “for some French label stock — another 22,000 packs — to be sold into the NHS and [we] are currently waiting for the MHRA’s direction on where to place the stock”.
◦ The manufacturer said the French stock only includes midazolam at the strength of 1mg/mL in 5mL, while the initial supply in March 2020 contained a variety of four different strengths.
◦ The DHSC confirmed that its request for additional midazolam stock from Accord Healthcare was one of these precautions. “As part of our national efforts to respond to the coronavirus outbreak, we are doing everything we can to ensure patients continue to access safe and effective medicines,” they added.

Debi Evans of UK Column interviewing a nurse who’s partner died after the administration of midazolam – He tried to escape three times from hospital and they eventually tied him down and administered midazolam. The dosages used were very high. This is harrowing to listen to.
Also, since Shipman, by law death must be certified by two doctors until we got to March 2020 and then only one signature was necessary and this could be done remotely without the medic even seeing the body. My 101year old mother-in-law was declared dead by the care home manager who was not even a nurse and the doctor signed the form from his office and never saw her body. I believe this practice has not returned to the legal requirement.

After years of illegal persecution, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called on Kiev lawmakers to draft a law banning the Russian Orthodox Church from Ukrainian territory. The justification would be the “necessity” to ban institutions linked to Russia due to the current conflict. With this, once again the Ukrainian government shows that it does not prioritize popular interests, considering that Orthodoxy is the majority religion of the Ukrainian people.

The religion of transhumanism does not tolerate any other monotheistic religion: thou shalt have only one TransGod and it shall be Yuval "Noah" Harari, who is fundamentally an atheist who believes in scientism, therefore a perfect representation of the transhumanist belief system.
That is why the Russian Orthodox Church, probably the biggest obstacle to the TransGod in Ukraine and Russia, must be eliminated.
The Vatican of course has been co-opted, however, a new true leader of the Catholic Church has emerged in Archbishop Viganò, and he is recognised as the true leader of Catholicism by many worldwide to all effects apart from the formal canonical one. He of course sees the bigger picture and is opposing transhumanism on all levels.
The war in Ukraine does have a faith based ideological dimension, and that is a war of the transhumanists against the opposition of the Orthodox Christian Church. This seems absolutely clear by the actions of both Patriarch Kirill and Zelensky: they are clearly at war against each other. A local Ukrainian Orthodox Church based in Kiev and run from Ukraine will have no power to oppose transhumanism, it simply will not be allowed to do so by armed militias.

Four police officers entered the room where baby Will and his twin brother slept soundly.
Without notice, they seized him.
In the words of Will's father:
‘Baby Will has tonight been ripped from his bed and his mum, in a display of ultimate cowardice by masked people dressed as police at 11 o’clock at night, to be made to undergo invasive procedures, before being forced against our Will to have a rushed and unprepared for surgery.'
This happened despite last-minute efforts by the family's legal team and experts from across the world, who were studying his case and making recommendations that were then passed to the judge on the case.
Now, his life is in the hands of the hospital staff.
Let’s hope, for Will’s sake, they see sense and provide him with an uncontaminated blood supply.
Those that are wanting to protest this gross state overreach, at 10 am tomorrow outside the hospital, are asked to do so in a peaceful manner.
Our prayers are with Will and the family this morning. 🕯
