Atheism is a religion, and because it is relatively empty at a spiritual level, I would say it lacks "heart" at its core, it gets often filled in, at its best or worst, with a woke belief system based on identity, including that of science: "I identify as a data scientist" is a form of self identification.

The catch is the only identity that is self-nourishing is a religious identity with a long and morally based body of narrative and cultural creation behind it. This is why woke culture represents the new atheist "crusades", it is inherently a form of intolerant religion, which is the only destination of religions not born of the heart: the woke are the new missionaries, but the message they bring is one of anger, not love.

The main functional advantage of Christianity over Woke-ism is that the sacrificial martyrdom to unite Christians already happened 2000 years ago, followed by 300+ years of martyrdoms, and all failed in the purpose to stop Christ's message. Christians don't need new sacrifices, whereas Woke-ism does: sacrifices to the altars of Big Pharma via ritualised inoculation and to the altar of the LGBTQ lobby via surgical gender mutilation of children. The only reason these are permitted is their symbolic nature of ritual sacrifices to unite behind Woke-ism.
