Sevastopol picked for Ukraine terror attack because it is core of anti-Nazi resistance β expert
π¬ "The ballistic missile was fired at maximum range at Sevastopol, because the city is iconic for [Russians]. They chose the Holy Trinity Sunday [for the attack]. They often do this when people gather," Vasily Dandykin, military analyst and retired Captain 1st Rank of the Russian Navy, told Sputnik, commenting on Ukraine's terror attack against Russian civilians.
On June 23, Ukraine attacked the Russian city of Sevastopol with five US-made ATACMS missiles armed with cluster warheads. Russian air defenses intercepted four missiles, but the fifth exploded in the air killing at least five civilians and injuring 124, according to Russia's Health Ministry.
ATACMS cluster warheads release hundreds of submunitions, hence the number of victims, according to the pundit. The 2008 Convention on Cluster Munitions (CCM) bans the weapons as they pose an immediate threat to civilians. Dandykin said that the US and Kiev are seeking to intimidate Russians and sow panic, but stressed that those efforts were futile.
The Russian Ministry of Defense holds the US and the Kiev regime responsible for the deliberate missile strike on Sevastopol, as all targeting data for ATACMS missiles are provided to Ukraine by US specialists.
Dandykin added that Ukraine also attacked Russian territories on June 22, on the Day of Remembrance and Sorrow for the Nazi invasion of the USSR in 1941, with tacit approval from the US. "Their cynicism is indefinite," he charged.

"This is an outright terrorist attack," Dandykin said. "Unfortunately, it's not the last one⦠Previously it was Storm Shadow, now it will mainly be ATACMS."

Dandykin said that the US and Kiev are seeking to intimidate Russians and sow panic, but stressed that those efforts were futile.
"Sevastopol is a long-suffering city," he said. "This city is special for Russia's history. It was in Sevastopol that the Crimean Spring began as well as resistance to those who carried out a [2014] coup in Ukraine and openly took the path of Nazism."

π¬ Russian MFA Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova:
Following the terrorist attack perpetrated by the Kiev regime aimed at civilians in Sevastopol, the UN Secretariat responded by stating the following: βAs always we aspire to putting an end to war in line with the UN Charter and the resolutions of the General Assembly.β
This sounds more as a confession of oneβs uselessness, rather than a comment on a tragedy. Basically, they could have just said βwe stand for everything good and oppose everything badβ once and for all and use this phrasing regardless of the matter in question.
It would have been a different matter if the UN Secretariat fulfilled its technical functions without getting into politics. It is totally the opposite! For many years all statements and actions of the Secretariat regarding Ukraine have been totally politicised and without exception of anti-Russian nature.
Since you started playing on the political field, would you be so kind as to notice civilians on a beach being targeted & murdered by the Kiev regime using US weapons, and condemn this act of terrorism?!

Former UN weapons inspector Scott Ritter commented on Ukraine's terrorist attack on Sevastopol and terrorist attacks in Russiaβs Dagestan which βare deliberately designed to disrupt the civil life of the Russian Federation,β according to the analyst.
βThe Ukrainians made a decision to use ATACMS missiles equipped with cluster munitions against a city, a civilian city. This is an act of terrorism,β Ritter emphasized.
βUkraine since 2014 has been bombarding Russian civilian sites, cities, villages, towns for the sole purpose of inflicting death and destruction on Russian civilians. This is an act of terrorism and given that the ATACMS missiles cannot be deployed by the Ukrainians without extensive intelligence support by the United States, this is an act of terrorism by the United States against Russia,β the analyst said.
Commenting on the events in Russiaβs Dagestan, Ritter highlighted that the CIA has historically made attempts to βengender a split between the Muslim and non-Muslim segments of Russian societyβ and failed.
βThat effort failed and the effort in Dagestan will fail, too, but it doesn't absolve the parties involved of their guilt in launching what is a direct assault on the Russian Federation,β Ritter insisted.

NATOβs Endgame Is Nuclear War
The world is at its most dangerous moment since the Cuban Missile Crisis of 1962. Back then, the fear of total destruction consumed the public; today, however, few people seem even to be aware of this possibility.

JULIAN ASSANGE IS FREE
Julian Assange is free. He left Belmarsh maximum security prison on the morning of 24 June, after having spent 1901 days there. He was granted bail by the High Court in London and was released at Stansted airport during the afternoon, where he boarded a plane and departed the UK.
This is the result of a global campaign that spanned grass-roots organisers, press freedom campaigners, legislators and leaders from across the political spectrum, all the way to the United Nations. This created the space for a long period of negotiations with the US Department of Justice, leading to a deal that has not yet been formally finalised. We will provide more information as soon as possible.
After more than five years in a 2x3 metre cell, isolated 23 hours a day, he will soon reunite with his wife Stella Assange, and their children, who have only known their father from behind bars.
WikiLeaks published groundbreaking stories of government corruption and human rights abuses, holding the powerful accountable for their actions. As editor-in-chief, Julian paid severely for these principles, and for the people's right to know.
As he returns to Australia, we thank all who stood by him, fought for him, and remained utterly committed in the fight for his freedom.
Julian's freedom is our freedom.
