Vaccination rates across all vaccinable diseases are dropping. The aim of this campaign is to highlight vaccines’ ability to help people take control of their vulnerabilities, giving them the strength and resilience to take on life and live it to the fullest. Our Target Audiences are Pregnant Women, Parents (0-5 years) and People with Long Term Health Conditions . Pregnant Women & Parents need reassurance that by vaccinating their child, they can have piece of mind, knowing they’ve done the best/all they can to protect them. People with LTHCs know they can get ill, but don’t acknowledge how ill they could get.
We are currently looking for real families to appear in a campaign for Department of Health and Social Care, focused on raising awareness and encouraging the use of VACCINES.

Who we’re looking for:
- Parents with young kids (under 1's-5yr olds)
- Pregnant women with very visible bump (20s-40s)
- People with Long Term Health Conditions - specifically: heart, respiratory, diabetes, kidney, liver, neurological (ideally 30-40yrs old) 
Absolutely no acting experience required!
Shoot dates: 1-2x shoot days per person during w/c 18th Aug
Location: London - we are happy to consider people from all over but please note, you would need to have a London base during the shoot. Travel & accommodation will not be covered.
Fees
Kids: £200 day rate + £500 - £1,000 buyout
Adults: £300 day rate + £1,250 - £2,500 buyout
(Higher buyout if talent are featured in both stills & moving image part of the campaign, lower buyout if only featured in one)

"The southern Chinese city of Foshan is racing to contain a mosquito-borne virus with home inspections, PCR tests and drones, conjuring memories of the country's zero-COVID days.
Foshan had confirmed over 4,000 cases of chikungunya as of last Thursday, making it a hot spot for a virus that has prompted warnings from global health officials. The World Health Organization last week called for urgent action to prevent a major chikungunya epidemic from sweeping the globe, as the disease has been detected and transmitted in 119 countries.
Chikungunya causes fever and severe joint pain, although deaths are rare, according to the WHO.
Nanfang Daily, the official mouthpiece for the Chinese Communist Party in Guangdong province, said Friday that Foshan had expanded the number of hospitals offering nucleic acid PCR testing for chikungunya to 40, to speed up screening and diagnosis.
The situation has fanned fears of a possible return to the sort of restrictions seen during China's three-year attempt to suppress COVID-19, when authorities imposed tight lockdowns, insisted on mass testing and in isolated cases even broke into homes to kill pets."

"Chikungunya is a disease caused by the chikungunya virus, which is transmitted to humans by infected mosquitoes, with large outbreaks and sporadic cases reported mostly in the Americas, Asia and Africa, and occasional smaller outbreaks in Europe.
The symptoms of chikungunya are similar to those of dengue and Zika, making chikungunya easy to misdiagnose and making it more difficult for countries to accurately determine the number of people infected.
Chikungunya causes fever and severe joint pain, which is often debilitating and may be prolonged; other symptoms include joint swelling, muscle pain, headache, nausea, fatigue and rash.
There are currently two chikungunya vaccines that have received regulatory approvals in several countries and/or have been recommended for use in populations at risk, but the vaccines are not yet widely available nor in widespread use. WHO and external expert advisors are reviewing vaccine trial and post-marketing data in the context of global chikungunya epidemiology to inform possible recommendations for use.
There is no specific antiviral treatment for chikungunya virus infections but antipyretic and analgesic medications (such as paracetamol) for fever and pain can be used to alleviate these symptoms.
Severe symptoms and deaths from chikungunya are rare and usually occur in young babies or elderly people with other coexisting health problems.

Diagnostics
Chikungunya virus may be detected directly in blood samples collected during the first week of illness using tests such as reverse transcriptase–polymerase chain reaction (RT–PCR).

Other tests can detect a person’s immune response to chikungunya virus infection. These are typically used after the first week of infection to test for antibodies to the virus. The antibody levels are typically detectable by the first week after illness onset and can still be detected for about 2 months."

"Chikungunya is a mosquito-borne infection. It’s an alphavirus from the Togaviridae family, and was first isolated from patients during an epidemic in Tanzania in 1952.
The name chikungunya comes from a word in the Makonde language (one of the native languages in Tanzania) that means ‘that which bends up’, owing to the crippling pain in the joints caused by the virus.
Symptoms
Chikungunya is characterised by a sudden onset of fever usually accompanied by joint pain (arthralgia). However, symptoms can range from mild or non-existent to severe. It can often be misdiagnosed as other viral illnesses such as dengue fever in areas where these infections also occur.
Other common symptoms of chikungunya include:
muscle pain
headache
nausea
fatigue
rash
The joint pain may be very debilitating, but usually ends within a few days or weeks.
Most patients make a full recovery. In some cases, joint pain and arthritis may persist for several months or even years. Occasional cases of eye, neurological and heart complications have been reported, as well as gastrointestinal complaints.
Serious complications are not common, but in older people the disease can contribute to the cause of death.
