"Aspects of the 15-minute city are praiseworthy. I yield to no one in my embrace of the pedestrian city. I have long believed that walking as the best of all possible modes.

I also believe that cities should be freed from the business regulations that make it difficult to start small shops and cosy cafes in residential neighbourhoods. An exciting mixed-use neighbourhood can be one of the best gifts of urban entrepreneurship. In the US, we regulate the entrepreneurship of the poor far more than we regular the entrepreneurship of the rich. The rich innovate in cyberspace, which is largely a regulation free zone. The poor innovate on the ground, in real things, and local government rules micromanage the physical.

But the basic concept of a 15-minute city is not really a city at all. It’s an enclave — a ghetto – a subdivision. All cities should be archipelagos of neighbourhoods, but these neighbourhoods must be connected. Cities should be machines for connecting humans – rich and poor, black and white, young and old. Otherwise, they fail in their most basic mission and they fail to be places of opportunity."

"But there are dangers of applying a model conceived in Europe to many North American cities, some urban experts warn. Transplanting the 15-minute city template across the Atlantic could be “presumptive and colonial” said Toronto-based urban designer and thinker Jay Pitter at the CityLab 2021 conference, hosted by Bloomberg Philanthropies and the Aspen Institute.

“I'm a champion of the hyper-local, as certainly we need more resilient, climate change-resistant cities.” said Pitter, who works on public space designs in a number of U.S. cities. “However, I am averse to this concept. It doesn't take into account the histories of urban inequity, intentionally imposed by technocratic and colonial planning approaches, such as segregated neighborhoods, deep amenity inequity and discriminatory policing of our public spaces.”

The core principles behind the 15-minute city aren’t new to urban planning. They derive from an old history of designing cities around people rather than cars, and many European cities that were planned before the invention of the automobile are better suited to this notion. But the idea that has been popularized during the pandemic is that all cities — including European ones — must center future planning on the goal of ensuring car-free access to basic necessities, such as health care, schools, employment and food. It’s a lofty goal, but one that is unlikely to reach all neighborhoods in many cities without drastic interventions and investments. Pitter warns that simply injecting design changes such as bike lanes and parklets into a neighborhood will not reverse segregation that has been embedded into city planning."

I’m so wary of propaganda these days that I’m not sure how to respond to this!
At first blush, it looks like a genuine apology.
It’s an apology however only for wrongly imposing a Vaccine mandate.
It’s not, for example, as it should also be, an apology for absurd overreactions to an alleged severe pandemic. I don’t think anyone on the truth side continues to argue there’s been a severe pandemic, if any at all.
So, is this apology genuine? Even if it is at a personal level, is she being used to maintain the Pandemic-Industrial Complex?

First-Ever Official Apology for COVID-19 Vaccine Mandates

🇨🇦@COVID19Up: We may have just seen the first-ever sincere and complete apology for COVID-19 vaccine mandates coming from a government official who was part of making vaccination mandate decisions.

In this moving video, a town councilor in West Nipissing, Ontario, Canada, Anne Tessier, officially apologizes. She acknowledges that the mandates were wrong. She admits that they were wrong when enacted and that the council was aware of that.

Anne’s voice breaks as she realizes the importance of her apology.

"I want to acknowledge that this policy has caused a lot of unnecessary harm and animosity within our Workforce and community. I believe that this policy was mistakenly adopted 12 months ago. The general population knows today that the COVID vaccine does not stop the spread of the virus. 12 months ago, the municipal council was well aware that the virus spread did not correlate with vaccination status prior to this policy being adopted.

A constituent had presented to the council the Public Health Ontario data showing that by January 2022, more cases were reported per capita in vaccinated people versus unvaccinated people. Unfortunately, the outcome of the vote from the municipal council resulted in the implementation of this punitive policy. With all my heart, I extend my apologies to those who were affected negatively by this policy, and I hope that as a municipality and a community, we can move forward. Thank you."

Where are all those billions of dollars sent to Ukraine really going?

"There is no explanation of where all the estimated $60 billion in military aid has gone, nor of the further $100 billion given by the U.S. alone. There is no interest in finding out where the weapons and the money is going.

Perhaps the removal of Reznikov would have sparked revelations as disturbing as those made in the CBS documentary “Arming Ukraine,” showing that only 30 percent of all weapons actually reached the Ukrainian army. The response from the Free World to this news was outrage – at it having been reported. CBS then censored its own film and begged for forgiveness for reporting the news.

In saner times, such as before the war to destroy Russia was undertaken, mainstream news outlets would warn of the danger to U.S. national security presented by arming Ukraine. According to former CIA chief John Brennan, doing so would risk “handing technology to Russian spies.”

In fact, the Ukrainians have been selling Western donated weapons to the Russians themselves. This report of July 2022 notes the sale of two 7 million euro French Caesar howitzers for a bargain price of $120,000.

Such reports have been “debunked” by the BBC, which claims to have investigated many advertisements for western weapons and found them all to be fake. It is a remarkable coincidence that what used to be true is now Russian propaganda.

Again, in less febrile times Ukraine had a notorious reputation for the black market arms dealing:

A Ukrainian parliamentary inquiry concluded that between 1992 and 1998, Ukraine lost $32 billion in military assets, in part through theft, discount arms sales and lack of oversight.

At the time, Ukraine’s annual military weapons budget was around $500 million. The chief culprit in this vast illegal trade, which saw arms sent to Sierra Leone and Croatia, was the Ukrainian army itself:

Theft and corruption in the military facilitated the flow of illegal weapons from Ukraine.

It is clear that the culture of corruption in Ukraine has existed since its inception at the fall of the Soviet Union, and that a few weeks of reshuffling is going to do little to dislodge the national pastime of officially sanctioned plunder.

What is more, as the Pandora Papers showed, the dirty laundry of Ukrainian money has the potential to embarrass many world leaders. Chief among them would be Biden, who has happily entrusted a safe pair of hands to continue Ukrainian business as usual."

'Buildup for War': US Spins COVID Lab Leak Narrative to 'Pin Blame on China'

"There are several issues at play here. The first is that the entire COVID-19 project, and the medical and general policy enacted in the United States and around the world using COVID-19 as an excuse is increasingly subject to question. A lot of the policies are now being criticized, and all sorts of legal actions are being taken.

There's a need to try and pin this mess on somebody. And China, the “rising threat” in Washington establishment chatter, is a perfect place to pin it on.

The second factor is what is happening in Ukraine and the numerous reports about US- funded bio labs. I'm not expert enough to judge the accuracy of those reports, but Russia has released considerable information concerning bio labs in Ukraine that they have captured .

There's been a lot of discussion out there, the information is not classified, about DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency) and other private corporations developing both viruses and vaccines, as well as working together, in a corrupt manner, with the World Health Organization and with multinational drug companies.

So clearly there is an incentive to try and pin all of this this mess, this transnational global finance mess spilling over from the pandemic, to pin it all on China, and specifically on the Chinese Communist Party."

When end-of-life ‘care’ is a death sentence

Elderly and vulnerable people are still being put on an end-of-life 'death pathway', hard-hitting report reveals - even though it was officially abolished almost a decade ago

"The controversial Liverpool Care Pathway – a series of guidelines that can involve the withdrawal of life-saving treatment from dying patients – was banned in 2014 after reports that people were put on it who might otherwise have survived.
But a report commissioned by MPs and peers, to be published on Tuesday, will conclude the LCP is still being practised ‘in all but name’.
The report details 16 cases where patients died after being given LCP-style treatment. The youngest was just 21."

The best available scientific data shows that the Earth's temperature ALWAYS rises first, & this rise is always FOLLOWED by a rise in CO2 and NOT the other way round like Al Gore erroneously claimed in his misguided documentary "An Incovenient Truth"

If CO2 was the cause rather than the effect of warming, then why is the Polar ice cap on Mars melting too? There is no extra man made CO2 on Mars.. 🤔
