Ukrainian law enforcers try to block the entrance to Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra — believers come out to negotiate

6 police officers entered the territory of the shrine in order to raid and further block the premises of the monastery. Metropolitan Kliment and believers with icons came out to negotiate with the law enforcers, the Union of Orthodox Journalists reported. A lawyer from the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra reported that an offence was filed against the representatives of the reserve and the police.

Residents of the Italian city of Udine saw a train with military equipment at the station

The footage was posted online, and later information appeared that the train was transporting 20 M109L self-propelled artillery units to Ukraine.

For reference: Italy purchased 155-mm American self-propelled guns M109 from the USA in the late 60s of the last century. Since then, the equipment has been upgraded twice, it has received the FH70 cannon, which is common in NATO.

Mathias Desmet’s explanation for how a society fell into lockstep with a false & dangerous narrative seemed to me to be plausible though it was an entirely new idea to me. I’ve never been one of the gang, I didn’t automatically like football or certain bands or fashions just because others did. It never occurred to me that this was one of the keys to acceptance, because that wasn’t important to me, either. Still isn’t.
So I listened to Desmet and thought “Oh well, yet another thing I’ve never understood about crowds and about the individuals that make them up”. I couldn’t critique it, either way.
