Graeme MacQueen has passed away.

Graeme MacQueen was a member of the Religious Studies Department at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, where he was Associate Professor. His academic specialization was Buddhist Studies, in which he received his doctorate from Harvard University. In 1989 Graeme helped found McMaster’s Centre for Peace Studies, of which he became director from 1989 until 1996.

"In the 20 years since the birth of social media, child sexual exploitation has become one of the biggest challenges facing tech companies. According to the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), the internet is used by human traffickers as “digital hunting fields”, allowing them access to both customers and potential victims, with children being targeted by traffickers on social media platforms. The biggest of these, Facebook, is owned by Meta, the tech giant whose platforms, which also include Instagram, are used by more than 3 billion people worldwide. In 2020, according to a report by US-based not-for-profit the Human Trafficking Institute, Facebook was the platform most used to groom and recruit children by sex traffickers (65%), based on an analysis of 105 federal child sex trafficking cases that year. The HTI analysis ranked Instagram second most prevalent, with Snapchat third."

In the summer of 2006, at the newly formed Journal of 9/11 Studies, we received a submission from a Canadian professor named Graeme MacQueen. The paper was entitled “118 Witnesses: The Firefighter’s Testimony to Explosions in the Twin Towers.” After peer-review comments were addressed, it was published and has become one of the most important articles in the 9/11 literature.

🇮🇹 Italians are against the supply of weapons to Kiev

👤 The chairman of the National Association of Partisans of Italy, Gianfranco Pagliarulo, stated that the majority of Italians oppose sending weapons to the Kiev regime.

💬 "A very significant number of people - and by all polls, this is the majority of Italians who criticize, doubt or consider wrong such a policy [sending weapons to Kiev and anti-Russian sanctions] <...> The conflict situation in Ukraine can be resolved in two ways: either the victory of one of the opposing sides, or through negotiations.
