It turns out that moss is the lifeblood of plant ecosystems, that plants benefit from having moss as a neighbour. The researchers found that moss provided benefits for the soil and other plants. In patches of soil where there was moss, there was more nutrient cycling, more decomposition of organic matter and even control of pathogens harmful to other plants and humans."

The future of CCUS in Canada. CCUSP: enhanced oil recovery (regenerating dead/declining oil wells) - and carbon credits ($$$).

"Alberta has developed carbon offset protocols for both carbon capture and storage as well as for enhanced oil recovery methods. These technology‐based offset credits generate a premium price in the regulated market and are sold to other facilities within the province. Offset credits registered in Alberta cannot currently be used for federal compliance and are non‐transferable outside the province.

Pricing Act (GGPPA). Offsets are generated by preventing GHG emissions or removing GHGs from the atmosphere over and above “business as usual” or legal requirements to reduce GHGs. They also must not be incentivized by legal requirements already in place, nor can they be subject to any policy or other risk management instrument placing a price on carbon pollution. Once generated, offset credits can be used by facilities subject to the Output‐Based Pricing System (OBPS) for compliance purposes. Alternatively, they can be used to meet corporate net‐zero commitments or conditions of an Impact Assessment Act approval."

"With an initial production capacity of 10,000 tonnes per year, the plant will triple its annual production capacity by 2026. This makes it the largest biochar plant in North America.

The consortium aims to produce 350,000 tonnes of biochar by 2035.

They have identified locations in Europe and Africa where they can access the input to produce biochar, as well as potential buyers....

Moreover, the production of biochar can generate Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR) carbon credits. These credits can be sold or traded, providing an additional revenue stream for biochar producers and incentivizing further carbon sequestration efforts.

Airex earlier this year raised $38M to increase capacity at another Quebec facility that torrefies biomass."

42°C IN ROME IN JULY 1841:

The maximum official temperature ever recorded by any weather station in Rome Italy, was 42°C on the 27th July 1841. A cursory internet search shows temperature reaching 40°C every other Summer. Therefore another 42°C is certainly not unprecedented, and since the last was in 1841 it does not equate with any gradual increase in the last few years. It would instead indicate the peak of warming was reached there in 1841. Long before everyone drove cars or flew in airplanes. How does this fit into the scaremongering? It does not.
