I hope everyone here has understood the basic messages from this six minute clip from a made-for-TV documentary.
The main message is that, according to temperature proxies and atmospheric concentrations of CO2, through long periods of time, as estimated by examination of drilled ice cores, is that:
-temperature changes PRECEDE changes in CO2.
-therefore, CO2 CANNOT be the principal driver of temperature changes.
-there are several, well-understood factors that cause surface temperature fluctuations over geological periods of time, principal among them being changes in the sunโs output and alterations in the shape of earthโs orbit around the sun & variations in the angle of the axis of rotation of the earth, relative to the plane of its orbit.
-temperature changes occur first and after a substantial time delay (several hundred years) the concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere changes in the same direction.
-the reason for the lag is that the mass of the atmosphere is small compared to the mass of the oceans, so it takes a long time for warmer air to warm up the oceans (same lagging process when cooling down).
Technical notes:
1. Atmospheric CO2 is measured directly in trapped bubbles of air, captured when the snow fell.
2. Temperatures were estimated using a proxy, something else that changes with temperature. Iโm not familiar with this one, but I think it has to do with the ratio of oxygen isotopes such as O16 & O18, which changes with temperature. So long as the proxy is directionally reliable, precision isnโt important.
3. These principal findings have been reproduced by several independent research groups.
Best wishes
Mike

A useful to what it is that Dr Denis Rancourt has studied in detail in over one hundred countries.
When the topic of all cause mortality is raised, this is what is meant.
This is part of a discussion between Dr Peter McCullough and Dr Denis Rancourt a few days ago. Well worth a listen as much for what McCullough said (or rather, didnโt say).
Best wishes

Virus excess mortality: Excess mortality is not a valid measure when standard antibiotics easily treated the novel virus. What affects excess mortality is not the poison, but whether the cure is administered in time or not. Given that the cure is the same for all respiratory viruses, given that it is widely available, given that with SARSCov2 the natural progression from infection to death is very slow, many weeks if not many months, then what happened is this: a novel virus with equivalent IFR to flu yet different was circulating, antibiotics were generally administered in time, therefore this prevented any excess mortality, until they were not administered for a period, and midazolam and remdesivir were administered instead, and this increased excess mortality.
This is not difficult. But you need to include antibiotics in the thinking or you will always miss the most important factor: the cure.

"The Russian defence manufacturing industry employs between 2.5million and 3million workers. The US defence industry, by contrast, employs around 800,000 workers. Moreover, Putin announced recently that military spending will account for nearly one third of Russiaโs total expenditure in 2024. As the New York Times reported in September, Moscowโs military-industrial base is already out-producing those of America and Europe combined by a profound margin. Hence the hysterical strategies of the commentariatโs high priests are nothing but a naรฏve delusion โ a fantasy that neglects our own systemic limitations. The Ukrainians are implored to fight to the death by their Western handlers in spite of the known chronic shortage of the material means required for victory.
This failed, stupid, lethal policy in Ukraine is merely a symptom of the delusional political idealism that now reigns in the West โ the nonsense machine. And as we will see in the final essay of this series, the neoliberal warmongering will meet with its nemesis before long."

โก๏ธ Finnish gas pipe leak investigation assumes sabotage
A probe into a leak from an undersea gas pipeline between Finland and Estonia is proceeding on the assumption that it was a deliberate act of destruction, according to people familiar with the matter.
There are no final conclusions, the people said. Officials are expected to give more details on the investigation later on Tuesday.
European gas prices rose as much as 12% on the news.
An "unusual" drop in pressure in the pipeline forced operators to cut off the gas supply early on Sunday, while neighboring countries launched an inspection.
According to one of the insiders, the leak occurred in Finnish waters.

๐ญ One day the mouse watched the farmer and his wife through the hole in the wall as they opened a package.
"What will there be for dinner?" - the mouse asked himself.
But then she was shocked to realize that it was a mousetrap.
The mouse went around the farm and warned everyone: - "There is a mousetrap in the house! Be careful, there is a mousetrap in the house!"
The chicken raised his head and said: "Dear Mouse, I understand that this is a serious matter for you, but it is none of my business. It doesn't bother me at all."
The mouse went to the pig and said: "There is a mousetrap in the house! There is a mousetrap in the house!"
The sensitive pig said: "I am very sorry, dear mouse, but there is nothing I can do but pray. I assure you that I will pray for you."
Then the mouse went to the cow: - "There's a mousetrap in the house! There's a mousetrap in the house!" The cow said, "Oh, dear mouse, I'm sorry for you, but I don't mind. What should I have to do with it?"
So the mouse, head bowed and very discouraged, went back into the house to face the fatal trap alone.
During the night they heard a strange noise echoing through the house, like that of a trap catching its prey. The farmer's wife immediately got up to see what she would find in the trap. If only they had finally caught this cheeky mouse!
But in the darkness she didn't see that it was a poisonous snake whose tail was stuck in the trap. The snake bit the farmer's wife, who had to be taken to hospital later that day with a high fever.
As many know, in farming culture, fever is cured with fresh chicken soup, so the farmer went into the chicken coop with his big knife to collect the main ingredient for the soup.
But his wife's illness did not go away, and so many friends came to visit her and be close to her. The house was full, and in order to feed everyone, the farmer had to slaughter the pig.
Soon after, the woman died and so many people came to her funeral that the farmer had to slaughter the cow to feed everyone.
The mouse from the small hole in the wall watched the death of all his friends helplessly and with great sadness.
Next time you hear that someone is struggling with an issue and you think it doesn't affect you, remember that if one of us is affected, we are all at risk.
We are all involved in this journey called life.
Caring for one another is a way to encourage and support one another.
