Less than one month ago, on September 30, 2023, Canadian Prime Minster Justin Trudeau stated: "Today, I encourage everyone to wear orange in recognition that every child matters...".

This campaign was and is specific to Canada to recognize and reflect on the ongoing legacy of the residential school system under colonization, upon Indigenous land still occupied to this day. Not dissimilar to the terror and ethnic cleansing endured by Palestinians who were displaced from lands under British rule. Land now occupied by Israel.

Shirts, flags and merchandise donning the logo "every child matters", created seas of orange from coast to coast. Government, NGOs, corporations, in tandem with media, promoted the campaign. For days, political posturing and virtue signalling flooded social media, airwaves, and sidewalks.

The "orange shirt day" is said to honour "the experiences of Indigenous Peoples, celebrates resilience and affirms a commitment that "every child matters." (Note it is a celebration of resilience – rather than resistance.)

Millions of citizens made a point of consuming and displaying merchandise in order to demonstrate to others that they held this value - that "every child matters", with politicians at the forefront.

Where are these people today?

Since Oct 7, 2023, the terrorist state known as Israel has murdered over 3,000 Palestinian children.

From millions wearing "every child matters" t-shirts, hanging banners and waving flags, to collective silence and complicity.

The empty marketing campaign (to placate genocide and appease white guilt) becomes transparent at once - true racist values remain firmly intact.

The hypocrisy is blatant. It is ugly.

It is unforgiveable.

It will not be forgotten.

In the process of the narrative building, the anti-Zionist sentiment has been laundered into anti-semitism by the vast western institutions to drive the aggressor to escalate its violence. The characters of the resistance has been portrayed as barbaric. The notion of Israel vs Palestinians has been completely separated from the matter of the imperial hierarchy.

It has become a commodity within the west to take side and cheer on without any discernible change. The crucial thing is to understand the mechanism. And to grasp the fact that the Israel as a proxy force is coming to an expiration date. It took 75 years, but resistance has been recognized, and the global dynamic is shifting against the imperial domination.

For the west, when the role of the proxy ends, the conflict must present an opportunity to intervene as a wise moderator or a crusader who embarks on a larger conflict. The role of the people here is to prevent both scenarios. The destructiveness of the imperial formation must be pointed out. That will liberate both people of Israel and Palestinians from the bloody imperial spell."

"CPJ warns Israeli war on Gaza ‘deadliest time’ for journalists on record"

"Westcott confirmed that so far, 24 journalists have lost their lives, according to CPJ’s count. Out of the 24, 20 were Palestinian, while three were Israeli and one was Lebanese.
