WHO Warns that Pandemic Agreement Might Not Be Finalized by May 2024, Blames Conspiracy Theories

On Monday, the WHO's Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus raised concerns that the draft of the Pandemic agreement may not be finalized by May of this year as previously agreed.

In this Informal Session, WHO Secretary Tedros blames "fake news, lies, and conspiracy theories" for the slow progress on the WHO's pandemic agreement.

"The IHR working group are operating amidst a torrent of fake news, lies, and conspiracy theories. There are those who claim the pandemic agreement and IHR will cede sovereignty to WHO and give the WHO Secretary the power to impose lockdowns or vaccine mandates on countries," Tedros stated. "You know this is fake news, lies, and conspiracy theories. You know these claims are completely false. You know the agreement will give the WHO no such powers. We cannot allow this historic agreement this milestone in global health to be sabotaged by those who spread lies."

INTERNATIONAL COURT OF JUSTICE RULING ON SOUTH AFRICA'S CASE AGAINST ISRAEL UNDER THE GENOCIDE CONVENTION

In simple language, the ICJ has said there is a prima facie violation of the Genocide Convention specifically articles II (a) - (d) and that until a final determination is made regarding Gaza, Israel must stop:

a) Killing Palestinian civilians;
b) Causing serious bodily harm to Palestinians
c)Deliberately inflicting on Palestinians conditions of life calculated to bring about the physical destruction of the Palestinian community in whole or in part (include destroying homes and infrastructure)
d) Imposing measures intended to prevent births within Palestinians

And
1) Stop its army and others from committing the above prima facie genocidal acts
2) Stop encouraging these prima David genocidal acts
3) Enable free flow of humanitarian aid

The case at this stage was not to make a finding of Genocide but to confirm if the impugned acts of Israel in Gaza can be plausibly regarded as genocidal acts in violation of the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide. The court said yes on all counts and that there was a risk of irreparable harm if Israel does not stop hence provisional measures ordered.

The United States plans to station nuclear weapons in Britain for the first time in 15 years as the threat from Russia grows, according to Pentagon documents obtained by The Telegraph. The US removed nuclear missiles from Britain in 2008, believing the threat from Moscow had diminished.

Contracts for a new facility at RAF Lakenheath in Suffolk confirm the US intends to station nuclear warheads three times more powerful at the airbase than the Hiroshima bomb.

South Africa did all the work at the Court, however, a team of activists has been working both in front and behind the scenes towards this strategy. Sam Husseini played a central role. I provided him with the meme that he then pinned and asked everyone to pin. I worked with people I will not name (you know who you are) in order to get the message to some of the most influential people on the planet. We then identified South Africa as the most likely candidate to take further this action. Then South Africa did take it onboard and then the judges did their work. The case returns to the Court in one month when Israel needs to provide evidence it is abiding by the Genocide Convention, and South Africa can bring evidence if it is not. This is to say thank you to South Africa and thank you to all the people working to establish we still do have some remnants of International Law and that the countries of the Global South now need to make this International Law work for everyone, not only for the Western globalist oligarchy.

WHY BORDERS MATTER

In the early 2000s I spent a few years researching at the now defunct London Consortium. One of my tutors was Paul Hirst, Professor of Social Theory at Birkbeck College, who I also studied under at the Architectural Association where he taught a course on Space and Power.

Some of his unpublished writings were collected and published posthumously under the title Space and Power. In this book, under a chapter called Politics and Territory, Paul Hirst explains why borders are essential for the functioning of democracy:

"We do not live in a borderless world. Borders still matter. Borders and national citizenship rules are a primary check upon migration. Migration is not limited just because of xenophobia. The great nineteenth-century flows occurred because of the vast demand for labour in the new neo-Europes, and migrants to countries like the USA or Argentina had to make do, as there were few welfare rights. Unregulated migration now would undermine both citizenship and welfare rights. This would threaten democracy, which depends of the notion of a national community. Thus a degree of exclusion of outsiders is essential to democracy, and democracy is a key basis for the legitimacy of a government’s external actions. The present system of international governance could not survive without populations defined by and governed within national borders.

Territorial states also remain our primary source of accountability and democracy in such a complex system of governance. National representatives to supra-national bodies remain, in theory at least, subject to domestic political pressure. Cosmopolitan forms of strong democratic governance are unlikely to develop for the foreseeable future because we still operate in a world shaped by nationalism. Citizens still identify with the nation-state. States are the largest bodies that can claim any sort of primary legitimacy.

International bodies are the preserves of elites, and the international technocracy needs the check of politicians directly answerable to national politics.

Accountability of international agencies through national publics is at best indirect and weak, but strong supra-national democracy is just impossible. There is no global ‘demos’. If democracy implies a substantial measure of homogeneity in the demos, then the world is just too unequal economically and too different culturally..
