Clair Dobbin, for the Crown Prosecution Service, which is representing the US government, is arguing that Assange’s activity is distinguishable from that of a journalist. She cites the fact that Mr. Assange helped whistleblower Chelsea Manning in cracking a hash.

However, this was Mr. Assange’s attempt as a journalist to help Manning conceal her identity when accessing classified material. This was done to protect Manning, a whistleblower, from harm. It is not just good practice but an obligation of journalists to protect their sources.

Dobbin continues to argue that WikiLeaks published the names of informants, which may have put their lives at risk. However, there is no evidence that anyone was harmed. Moreover, one of the judges intervened and said - by the time Mr. Assange published the documents through WikiLeaks, (which were redacted) the unredacted files were already published by several organizations.

Pastor says Welby would not meet him if he spoke at Palestine rally with Corbyn

Archbishop said he could not meet Bethlehem Lutheran Munther Isaac if he shared platform with former Labour leader, Isaac says

"The archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, cancelled plans to meet the Bethlehem-based Lutheran pastor Munther Isaac, saying he could not meet him if he shared a platform with the former Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn at a pro-Palestinian rally, the pastor has said.
Isaac, the pastor of the Christmas Evangelical Lutheran church in Bethlehem, who has been highly critical of Israel in Gaza, saw his Christmas sermon go viral when he said if Jesus Christ was born today it would have been under the rubble.

He spoke at a Palestinian Solidarity Campaign rally at the weekend where Corbyn was also a speaker after being invited by the Palestinian ambassador to the UK, Husam Zomlot.

In an interview with the Guardian, Isaac said he was told by the archbishop’s aides that if he shared a platform with Corbyn, no meeting could happen. Isaac said: “It’s shameful. It’s not my type of Christianity not to be willing to meet another pastor because you don’t want to explain why you met him.

“This sums up the Church of England. They danced around positions, and ended up saying nothing. They lack the courage to say things.”

People are saying that they're feeling like they're going crazy. I want to congratulate you on displaying great courage and conviction. And I will tell you why: because in the past few months you have been mostly successfully withstanding a psychological warfare campaign of a massive, massive scale.

(Keep reading, it's going to be fascinating. And if you're not following me here yet, follow).

I am not talking about trolls and bots and the obvious complicity of mass media. I am talking about something entirely different: a well planned, well executed and heavily budgeted campaign by US and Israeli organs of government responsible entirely for fooling great numbers of people into believing all kinds of nonsense (and not believing the simple truth).

This may sound shady (not to the radicals among us: they're aware), but I'll tell you that in Israel "Management of Consciousness" is a formal activity and department of the IDF. And I guarantee you the US is no different.

And throughout this campaign I have been noticing certain tactics used by Israel for "management of consciousness" being employed, massively, by American representatives (the Europeans are usually just useful idiots: no one needs to even lie to them smartly. And I'm talking about the "leaders").
-
I am by no means saying you have not been lied to before as Americans (or as citizens f another country). But I bet many of you feel you have never been lied to this blatantly, this brazenly, to an actually disorienting effect.

So I'm going to very briefly run through 3 such tactics, and then tell you why they're using them (nothing is ever coincidental about how power speaks). I promise you it's going to make a lot of sense. And you're going to recognize them immediately.

Tactic #1: denying what you know is true, and they know you know they know is true (or seriously claiming what they know you know is a lie). Examples: we did not, or are not attacking, so and so hospital, while people are there filming themselves being bombarded. Also: The IDF claims only militants were targeted in X incident, when you're looking at images of dead women and children. This can be called: lying to your face. repeatedly, even though it is obvious for everybody they're doing it, and you're seeing it.

Tactic #2: claiming, or doing, two things that are mutually exclusive. Examples: claiming to care about people and providing the means to kill them. Talking about the importance of aid while not using any kind of public message to warn Israel it cannot withhold it. Talking about values and democracy while defending and justifying a genocide. There are a million examples of this, I'm sure you'll come up with plenty more.

Tactic #3: saying things like "we'll investigate", "we'll look into it", or "we're waiting for confirmation". Two brothers shot by a sniper a month ago? A man waving a white flag shot in front of a camera? 3 Israeli hostages killed by IDF while waving white flags? A command center under a hospital? 100 People killed in one attack? 400? Who remembers? And by the way: we're still looking into it.
-
Now if you'll notice, these 3 tactics have one very prominent element in common. Because these 3 tactics are used not to convince you of one reality or another. They are not trying to tell Israel is either good or bad, or that civilians die unjustifiably or not. This is not the point of all this, and this is why it feels like a break from previous traditions of political deceit.

The real purpose of these tactics is not to convince or dissuade you of anything in particular. They are meant to destabilize you psychologically. This is the disorientation I was referring to earlier. It is not coincidental, it is the desired effect of this strategy.

Yes, it is strategic.

This is what you do when you want a population confused and disarmed from any psychological certainty, which is the basis for all political motivation and action.
👍64💯17❤9🔥7👏4😢1
But if you don't know what's happening, and not sure what your government does or stands for, what are you going to fight? How will you convince other to join you?
-
They have been doing it to Israelis for decades: always talking from both sides of their mouth at the same time, denying what everybody watching knows is a complete lie and saying they'll investigate when it is clear it there is never any intention behind it.
-
By always maintaining two opposites in your consciousness, they are always giving you false hope, and always denying it, thus slowly breaking you (after 100 instances of this you stop hoping, and after 200 you forget hope ever lived in you). By always providing a grain of simulated recognition of your fears, they're letting you think that maybe you're heard and maybe not everything is a lie, but only to disappoint you a minute later. And again. Again.

My brothers and sisters, it is intentional. They are not sloppy or confused, but very methodical.
-
This is the very. very short and condensed version of what they're trying to do to us psychologically, which is really to disintegrate us not only as a society, but as individuals as well.

The trick to resisting this strategy is to always trust your instincts (because you are good and they work beautifully), and to always remember that they are using duplicity intentionally, strategically, to destabilize you. So your answer is, as always, clarity and resolve.

Millions of people are scratching their heads, not knowing what to make of America's endless commitment to a mass extermination of people, an event that is nothing more than inflicting the most horrific punishment known to humanity on a defenseless group of people.

Together with the US stand many other Western countries, and the same question can be asked about Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, France, the UK, and others.

Why are they doing this? Why are they so desperate to
support genocide? What drives them to this behavior that offers no apparent benefits?

(If you've read my first two posts in the colonizer psyche series this will be a natural continuation; if you haven't look at my pinned tweet)
-
I don't think this is about minerals, or geopolitical advantage. I'm looking for answers in the realm of the psychopolitical. Western powers are defending something. It is not Israel, because Israel is not in danger from Hamas. So what is it?
-
What do the US, Canada, and Israel have in common? We're looking for something so deep and precious that it's worth openly supporting a genocide for. It has to be fundamental, primary, or even primordial. Something that relates to the basic perception of self.

All those countries have one big thing in common: they are colonial projects. But does this help us? I think it does though we are not used to thinking this way.

Colonial projects, colonial countries, and I wrote about this in the previous post, are not natural and organic developments of a society. They are external concepts superimposed on an existing society. Colonial identities are to a large extent fake: someone came to a place and said: from now on we're this and that. And that's it. From that moment on, everyone is that colonial project has to abide by that set of completely random and made-up yada yada.

If you see it this way (and it's a leap for many people, but it nevertheless has a lot of intuitive power), it may help you to understand the behavior of Western powers today, and its psychological roots.

All colonial powers work together to guarantee the supremacy of made-up identities over genuine, native ones. Because if this model breaks anywhere, it will collapse everywhere.

It is a brotherhood of fake.
-
How will America tell itself its own story, or Canada, if natives in Palestine get recognition? This is their greatest nightmare: their exposure as fake, made-up cultures, built on domination and theft. They would rather support genocide.
-
Palestine is important both in terms of timeline and themes. Chronologically, Palestine is the last possible direct effort of white colonialism. This is the end, or the edge of it.

A Palestinian state would be a major, major moral blow to white, Western colonialism. It will have survived the most brutal and consistent attempts at disintegration and sabotage, meddling and intervening. It will be a major victory for brown and black people. A native group resurrecting from more than a century of this? Oh boy. All the textbooks in all classrooms around the world will have to be replaced.
-
But Palestine is also important thematically. Because its colonization was based on an unusual story, with the Jews being represented as some kind of reconquistadores of the Levant, retaking their old land. A story not the first Australians or the white South Africans could reenact.

And this story of Zionism was so successful as a political weapon, that it has become its own undoing. Unlike other colonial projects, Israel cannot pretend to respect the natives even a little bit: it believes its own story so fervently that it has to drive out or destroy all of them.

And in doing so, instead of allowing former colonial projects a face-saving ending to centuries of horrors, it exposes them as what they really are, and what they really always were.
❤24👍16🔥6
Stuck between allowing Palestine to succeed and exposing themselves to a major reckoning and becoming implicated in a par excellence colonial genocide, they chose the latter, but are going to have to face the former nonetheless, not before losing all credibility in claiming they have changes in the process.
-
A free Palestine scares them because it is the ghost of their own sins, rediscovered as a living, breathing human. The current political structures of colonial projects cannot afford it, so they try to uproot it. Because it is a fight between all colonialists and their fake identities, and all natives and their experienced, documented truths.

If you get that, it will be easier to understand why the US and its colonizing friends act the way they do.

I don't think the colonial camp is going to succeed. It has chewed on so much more than it can swallow, and its rivals are many, and they grow in strength and confidence every day. Even if they kill a million Palestinians, as I think they definitely, definitely intend to do, it won't bring them final victory.

This last crazed effort will result not in the final destruction of Palestine. but In the collapse of the colonial system, under the weight of its own contradictions and its own unattainable, amoral aspirations.

What Assange did was to expose the CIA money laundering operation at the centre of the military industrial complex that was going on since the Vietnam war and was the reason for the assassinations of John F. Kennedy, Robert F. Kennedy, Martin Luther King & John Lennon. It's them or him.
