With reference to the above, how do you determine the optimal “global” temperature?
Greenland during the period of roughly 1100-1700 was warmer than it has been since, and it supported European settlements for hundreds of years. After subsequent centuries of colder temperatures and expanding glaciers, why should we now be anxious if Greenland is a bit warmer today than 60 years ago?
In the atmosphere, there are four parts carbon dioxide to every 9,996 other parts. Do you think minor variations in an inert gas molecule comprising 0.04% of anything can by itself have a meaningful effect on any physical or thermal barrier?
Thinking about the sun, ocean currents, water vapor, volcanic emissions, vegetation and other such natural variables, is CO2 a bigger climate influence?
Giant sheets of ice covered much of the earth’s land area during the last ice age, which ended about 10,000 years ago. During that time, the huge glaciers rapidly melted, without human help. Why do you feel that man, who generates only about 10% of all new carbon dioxide, has a major impact on a global climate that is subject to much more direct, massive natural forces?
Are Europe and North America more inhabitable now, or when they were covered in ice?

The project architect on the above job (not the chief architect who owns the company) was a colleague of mine and old friend from my architecture school days. He died of turbocancer after the Covid boosters. Nobody will admit to that or claim that publicly apart from me. RIP.
P.S. I do think the green space is better without the memorial. Over two days in central Brussels last month, some 60 European Union and government officials, food security experts, industry representatives and a few journalists gathered to confront the possibility of something barely on the radar a few years ago: a full-blown food crisis.
The group sat down in a refurbished art deco Shell building to simulate what might happen, and help design policies aimed at prevention and response.
To watch one of the best-fed regions in the world stress test its food system underscores a growing level of alarm among governments over securing supplies for their populations.
Asia’s palm oil export limits are now reducing supplies of daily staples from margarine to bread.

Leaked US cable acknowledges ‘catastrophic’ cost of Israel’s Rafah invasion
"The leaked cable shows that the US acknowledges that the impact of such an invasion would be cataclysmic.
“A potential escalation of military operations within Southern Gaza’s Rafah Governorate could result in catastrophic humanitarian consequences, including mass civilian casualties, extensive population displacement, and the collapse of the existing humanitarian response, multiple relief actors have warned USAID’s Levant Disaster Assistance Response Team,”
the cable written by the US Agency for International Development (USAID) Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance reads.
Among the “key points” mentioned in the cable, an Israeli offensive in Rafah would “block the entry and transport of fuel and life-saving humanitarian assistance throughout the enclave,” further worsening the state of Palestinians who have already faced a near five-month-long siege by the Israeli army.
The cable explains that there is no viable plan of evacuation for the Palestinians displaced in Rafah. Israel’s option to the Palestinians is to live as refugees in Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula, which the latter refused completely.
The US cable also acknowledges that “a large portion of those residing in Rafah, including elderly populations, exhausted IDPs, and those with reduced mobility, would likely remain in the governorate during the potential military operation due to lack of viable alternatives, heightening the risk of mass casualties.”
