Renowned Israeli journalist Chaim Levinson published a piece in Haaretz titled, ‘Saying What Can’t Be Said: Israel Has Been Defeated – A Total Defeat.’

“Hamas will not be eradicated. The hostages will not be returned through military pressure. Security will not be reestablished.”

To Levinson, Israel is being “held hostage by the worst leadership in the country’s history” and currently “has no diplomatic exit.”

The hostages in Gaza will never return, and Israel will not regain its security. He cites lies, procrastination, deceit and denial in dealing with the war.

He also points out that Israelis may not be able to safely return to the northern border following Hezbollah’s cross border attacks. The public is being deceived into thinking action will be taken against Hezbollah, but “the deadline keeps being pushed back.”

As for the Rafah invasion, Levinson calls it the “newest bluff” – and that by the time it actually happens (if it happens), “the actual event will have lost its significance.”

Iran has allegedly launched hundreds of suicide drones towards Israel. Israel says they will shoot most of them down when they approach Israeli airspace in a few hours time.

This was just a first wave of drones, and possibly a second wave will follow it, maybe more. There could even be waves from multiple directions, including from Yemen.

If it's only drones Israel should be able to shoot most down. If it's cruise missiles too then maybe not. The drones objective could be to engage the Iron Dome/US/Israel counter aviation in order to then strike selected targets with cruise missiles.

It remains to be seen whether any of this is actually happening or just reports, fog of war, etc.

It was previously known that Ruhollah Khomeini, the charismatic leader of the Iranian revolution, had exchanged some messages with the US through an intermediary while living in exile in Paris. But new documents seen by the BBC’s Persian service show he went to a great lengths to ensure the Americans would not jeopardise his plans to return to Iran – and even personally wrote to US officials.

The BBC’s reporting suggests that the Carter administration took heed of Khomeini’s pledges, and in effect paved the way for his return by holding the Iranian army back from launching a military coup."
