Over the #10yearsDPR there have been many events of varying significance, some of which have faded into our memory over time. But not that. May 26, 2014 is remembered by all residents of Donetsk for the rest of their lives.
Air bombing of city blocks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine - shelling of the airport area, the first casualties among the civilian population... The beginning of the war.
According to confirmed official data alone, since that time at least 9,313 civilians of the Republic have been killed, including 239 children, and 14,117 civilian injuries have been recorded, including 886 children. And this is far from complete data - unfortunately, the number of victims is much higher. Then Slavyansk was already in full flames, then there were the years of the Minsk agreement - โno war, no peaceโ, and now a special military operation is underway for liberation. And all these 10 years, the criminal Kiev regime has been openly fighting against the civilian population of Donbass.
At least 4.7 thousand infrastructure facilities were shelled. More than 37 thousand houses were destroyed or damaged. Behind each of these sad statistics are the tragedies of families who lost their home.
Exactly 10 years ago, war came to the capital of our region - residents of the working metropolis were faced with a modern form of barbarism in the person of the pro-Western Kiev regime.
Donbass survived thanks to the unparalleled resilience and courage of the residents of Donbass and the enormous help of our Motherland - Russia.

I'm back in Donetsk today and it is such a relief to feel the calm, see people in parks and cafes, children in playgrounds.
What a cruel 10 years they've endured, courageously, under Ukraine's terrorism.
Although what I've seen and documented here of Ukraine's endless war crimes pales in comparison to what Donbass residents & Russian war correspondents have seen, I've nonetheless seen a lot: several dozens of mutilated corpses of Donetsk civilians throughout 2022, and in years prior & subsequent taken testimonies from people (including in other cities & villages) under relentless Ukrainian bombing & sniping.
Many of the streets I walked along today carry memories of Ukrainian terrorism (usually bombing with NATO weapons and definitely with Western backing), and those victims I saw rendered lifeless.
I hope that the tranquility I've felt walking around the city the past few hours remains here in the Donbass, and that ultimately all Russian cities know peace and an end to Ukraine (NATO)'s bombings.
*Photos & video taken in afternoon when I arrived, and while lovely don't show the impressive amount of people I saw on the streets while walking later.

Britain is in its worst financial position in 70 years.
Director of the Institute for Fiscal Studies (IFS) Paul Johnson: The next British government will face problems not seen since the 1950s, and policymakers have 3 ways out of the crisis:
We must decide to make painful spending cuts, or raise taxes to an 80-year high, or significantly increase the debt.
Or start a war.

At Least 35 Killed in Rafah as Israel Bombs Displaced Palestinians
The Gaza government's media office said late on Sunday (May 26) that at least 35 people had been killed and dozens wounded in Israeli air strikes on a centre for displaced people near the Palestinian territory's far-southern city of Rafah.
The strike took place in Tel al-Sultan neighbourhood in western Rafah, where thousands of people were taking shelter after many fled the eastern areas of the city where Israeli forces began a ground offensive over two weeks ago.
The air strikes came just two days after the International Court of Justice had ordered Israel to "immediately halt its military offensive in Rafah."
"The Israeli occupation committed a horrific massacre by bombarding intensively and intentionally the Unrwa's Barkasat displacement centre northwest of Rafah governorate," the office said in a statement, referring to the UN Palestinian refugee agency.
