"The most famous U.S. assurance to the Soviets on NATO expansion confirms the Soviet transcript of the same conversation. Repeating what Bush said at the Malta summit in December 1989, Baker tells Gorbachev: “The President and I have made clear that we seek no unilateral advantage in this process” of inevitable German unification. Baker goes on to say, “We understand the need for assurances to the countries in the East. If we maintain a presence in a Germany that is a part of NATO, there would be no extension of NATO’s jurisdiction for forces of NATO one inch to the east.” Later in the conversation, Baker poses the same position as a question, “would you prefer a united Germany outside of NATO that is independent and has no US forces or would you prefer a united Germany with ties to NATO and assurances that there would be no extension of NATO’s current jurisdiction eastward?” The declassifiers of this memcon actually redacted Gorbachev’s response that indeed such an expansion would be “unacceptable” – but Baker’s letter to Kohl the next day, published in 1998 by the Germans, gives the quote."

Today at 12.15, a terrorist missile strike by five U.S.-made ATACMS operational-tactical missiles equipped by cluster warheads was deliberately delivered at Sevastopol.
The alerted air defence units intercepted four U.S.-made ATACMS missiles. The explosion of the fragmentation warhead of the fifth U.S.-made missile in the air led to high number of casualties among peaceful residents of Sevastopol.
The American specialists input all flight tasks in the U.S.-made ATACMS operational-tactical missiles on the basis of data of the U.S. satellite reconnaissance.
That is why Washington is mostly responsible for the deliberate missile strike at peaceful residents of Sevastopol by delivering this weaponry to Ukraine, as well as the Kiev regime, from the territory of which the strike was launched.
Such actions are not going to be left unanswered.

🇺🇦On June 23, a Ukrainian Armed Forces missile attack on the city of Sevastopol killed five people, including three children. Over a hundred people were injured. According to the latest data, 27 children were among the victims.
😲Orthodox Crimea is shocked by this tragedy. There is no justification for a cynical, insidious attack in broad daylight, targeting civilians. The inhumanity and blasphemy of the Ukrainian Armed Forces attack seems even more terrible on the Day of the Holy Trinity, one of the 12 main holidays in Orthodoxy.
Of course, the Crimean clergy will provide all the necessary pastoral assistance and support to those who need it.
🙏At this harsh hour, together with the clergy, monastics and faithful of Crimea and Sevastopol, we pray for the healing of the suffering and the strengthening of the strength of all those affected by this terrible crime.
