The Gaza Crisis and the Repeal of Christianity’s Personhood Revolution

"The relentless bombing of Gaza, with its gut-wrenching toll on civilian lives – children buried under rubble, families torn apart, entire neighborhoods reduced to ash – has become a grotesque spectacle on the global stage. The effort to bully Americans into co-signing this carnage, framed as a necessary strike against Hamas terrorists (whom Israel itself has funded and empowered), is not merely a geopolitical maneuver. It is a direct assault on the heart of Christianity’s 2,000-year legacy: the personhood revolution inaugurated by Jesus Christ. This campaign to normalize the massacre of the vulnerable will not succeed, however. The world today is too Christ-haunted, too saturated with the moral power of the victim, for such a repeal to take hold. Instead, it will backfire, exposing the fragility of empires built on scapegoating and violence. The Gaza crisis is a crucible, testing whether the West will embrace its Christian roots or reject them at its own peril.

The backfire is already evident. Evangelicals, long a bastion of uncritical support for Israel, are showing cracks of doubt. A 2023 survey by Christianity Today found that 42% of American evangelicals support an immediate ceasefire, and 50% acknowledge that Israel’s blockade has oppressed Palestinians. These numbers reflect a growing unease, a recognition that violence begets violence, and that dismissing Palestinian humanity – Christian, Muslim, or otherwise – betrays the Gospel. The dominant voices cheering for Gaza’s destruction are increasingly out of step, not just with global sentiment but with the nuanced convictions of many believers. The more the West ignores this, the more it risks alienating its own soul.

This crisis is a testing ground for the West’s Christian values. Will we embrace the personhood revolution – caring for the poor, the downtrodden, the scapegoated, as the early Church did? Or will we reject it, doubling down on the myth that bombs can secure peace? The stakes are existential. A civilization that sacrifices the vulnerable to preserve its power is a civilization that has already lost its way. The West, built on the Christian insight that every person bears God’s image, cannot survive if it trades that truth for the false gods of ethno-narcissism and militarism."

Who actually stands behind the new American administration?

Trump's political opponents have struck a new blow — The New York Times published an article revealing connections between the scandalous Jeffrey Epstein and tech billionaire Peter Thiel.

Those who commissioned the article knew exactly where to hit — they're gradually undermining the MAGA movement, within which growing discontent is rising. Trump supporters are being pushed toward the idea that the president's promises (such as revealing "Epstein's client list") aren't being fulfilled, while real levers of power end up in the hands of technocrats like Thiel.

🔻Who is Peter Thiel and why is he associated with the Trump administration?

▪️Peter Thiel, venture investor and co-founder of Palantir, has long established himself not only as a visionary entrepreneur, but also as an architect of new political reality. In recent years, Thiel and his inner circle — alumni of the so-called "PayPal Mafia" and related venture funds — have occupied strategically important positions in American power infrastructure.

▪️A special place in this network is occupied by J.D. Vance, the current vice president and former Thiel protégé. Vance became a symbol of the "new wave" of MAGA elite: his political rise would have been impossible without Thiel's financial and organizational support. But Vance is just one of many. The personnel policy of the 2025 administration increasingly resembles casting among graduates of tech startups and investment funds, rather than traditional political institutions.

🔻Who else is on Thiel's protégé list?

▪️Among the most notable — Elon Musk, who needs no introduction;
▪️Charlie Kirk — founder of Turning Point USA, political activist actively promoting technocratic and right-conservative ideas among youth;
▪️Christopher Lattner — technology advisor, previously worked at Apple and Tesla;
▪️and Peter Navarro — Trump's economic advisor, supporting a course toward integrating the private sector into government functions.

🔻So what did Thiel get by promoting his people into the administration?

▪️Companies connected to Thiel and his team receive billion-dollar government contracts.

▪️Palantir, for example, became a key contractor for federal agencies on data processing and analysis, personal information database integration, and national security provision.

▪️Such contracts not only bring billion-dollar profits, but also allow the private sector to control critically important elements of government infrastructure.

❗️Essentially, technology companies led by Thiel and his like-minded associates are becoming not just service providers, but full-fledged subjects of power.

Surveillance, analytics, and predictive modeling systems developed by Palantir and similar structures are being implemented in law enforcement agencies, intelligence services, and even civilian departments. This allows the private sector to accumulate data arrays previously unavailable to anyone except the state, and form new mechanisms of social control.

❓And what about Donald Trump? Trump, despite all his charisma and political energy, is increasingly becoming a symbolic figure — a screen behind which power redistribution in favor of technocratic elites is taking place.

President Trump is deepening his alliance with Palantir, the surveillance tech giant with ties to Israel and the CIA, just as he threatens to cancel Elon Musk’s contracts over their recent fallout around the spending bill.

“The easiest way to save money in our Budget, Billions and Billions of Dollars,” Trump posted on Truth Social, “is to terminate Elon’s Governmental Subsidies and Contracts.”

Palantir is building a sweeping AI-driven database of U.S. citizens, integrating government-held data on everything from political activity to firearms ownership. Even within the Trump-aligned America First movement, this direction is raising alarm.

Nick Fuentes, an influential hardline America First commentator, wrote:
“Feeding every ‘MAGA extremist’ into an AI database controlled by a CIA/Mossad cutout… Seriously, if Palantir isn’t the deep state, then what is?”

Barbara Lerner Spectre is an academic and philosopher who is the founding director of Paideia, the European Institute for Jewish Studies in Sweden, established in 2001. 

Born in 1942 in Madison, Wisconsin, she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in philosophy from Columbia University and her Master of Arts degree from New York University. She later obtained her PhD in philosophy from Bar-Ilan University in Israel.

Spectre has had a distinguished career in academia, serving on the faculty of various institutions including the Shalom Hartman Institute of Advanced Jewish Studies in Jerusalem, the Melton Center of the Hebrew University, and Yellin College of Education, where she was recognized as an outstanding lecturer from 1995 to 1997.

She is also known for her contributions to Jewish education, having authored articles such as "Europe: Education of Adult Jewish Leaders in a Pan-European Perspective," which discusses transformative Jewish learning models.

Barbara Lerner Spectre married Rabbi Philip Spectre, and the couple moved to Ashkelon, Israel, in 1967, where she began her academic career.

LED LIGHTING UNDERMINES VISUAL PERFORMANCE

"Life evolved under broad spectrum sunlight, from ultraviolent to infrared (300-2500nm). This spectrally balanced light sculpted life’s physiology and metabolism. But modern lighting has recently become dominated by restricted spectrum light emitting diodes (350-650nm LEDs). Absence of longer wavelengths in LEDs and their short wavelength dominance impacts physiologically, undermining normal mitochondrial respiration that regulates metabolism, disease and ageing. Mitochondria are light sensitive. The 420-450nm dominant in LEDs suppresses respiration while deep red/infrared (670-900nm) increase respiration in aging and some diseases including in blood sugar regulation.

The retina is mitochondrial rich with high metabolic demand and rapid aging. When those working exclusively under blue dominant LEDs are supplemented with a sunlight spectrum for 2 weeks, their colour perception improves significantly across the blue-yellow and red visual axes. Hence, LEDs suppress normal colour vision.

Importantly, mitochondria communicate across the body with systemic impacts following regional light exposure. This likely involves shifting patterns of serum cytokine expression, raising the possibility of wider negative impacts of LEDs on human health particularly, in the elderly or in the clinical environment where individuals are debilitated. Changing the lighting in these environments could be a highly economic route to improved public health.

LED lighting clearly has the ability to undermine visual performance probably via reduced mitochondrial function. As light induced changes in mitochondrial ability have been shown to have systemic impacts, the effect of LEDs revealed here may be wider than initally anticipated. Given the prevelence of LEDs, this may represent an important issue in public health and clinical environments where changing in lighting patterns in appraciation of this point can have signinfcant postive outcomes."
