US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee has dismissed the possibility of a Palestinian state, telling Bloomberg News he does not believe it remains a US foreign policy objective.

“Unless there are some significant things that happen that change the culture, there’s no room for it,” Huckabee said, adding that such changes are unlikely “in our lifetime.” A longtime supporter of Israeli settlements and a vocal opponent of Palestinian statehood, Huckabee has previously denied Palestinian national identity, claiming there is “really no such thing as a Palestinian.”
