The "Left" is being misdirected to believe that taxes fund public spending. They don't. More taxes will not increase public spending, they will only make central banks richer.
The Bank of England explains how commercial banks create money out of thin air. Money is not a finite entity like gold or even Bitcoin. Central Banks lend to government at interest. Your taxes are only there to repay Central Banks, not to pay for anything.

They can always find obnoxious amounts of money for war but never for fixing pot holes, hospitals or housing.
In the 1930s and just after the war more than 70% of money went into the real economy through wages, housing, factories and services.
Today less than 30% does. The rest circulates in finance through speculation, buybacks, property bubbles, bonds and derivatives. It sits as numbers on a computer waiting to buy up land, houses and businesses when the next manufactured recession arrives.
Talking of recessions:
Money in silver and gold was invented to replace barter, so no more carrying a sheep on your back to swap for 30 chickens. Then paper notes appeared as IOUs from the goldsmiths. When they deliberately issued more than they held, banking was created to cover the fraud and make it easier for them to profit.
Then they got even sneakier through their control of governments. By withholding “credit” from this manufactured money they create every recession, then use that same “money” to seize the land, homes and businesses people built since the last crash. Rinse and repeat.

'Emily in Paris' AD Diego Borella Dies After Collapsing On Set
"Diego Borella, an assistant director on Emily in Paris, has died after collapsing on the set of the Netflix show in Venice, Italy.
Filming temporarily suspended after the Italian crew member was pronounced dead at around 7pm on Thursday after he collapsed during preparation for a final scene being shot at Hotel Danieli, according to multiple local outlets.
“We are deeply saddened to confirm the sudden passing of a member of the Emily in Paris production family,” a Paramount Television Studios spokesperson said in a statement to People. “Our hearts go out to the individual’s family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.”

A new era of denial
"Atrocity denial is a global phenomenon, but Israeli society has turned it into something of an art. It is no coincidence that one of the most important academic works on the subject, “States of Denial” (2001) by the sociologist Stanley Cohen, was inspired by his experiences as a human rights activist in Israel during the First Intifada in the late 1980s.
Drawing on those experiences, Cohen describes a repertoire of denial employed by both states and societies: “it did not happen” (we didn’t torture anyone); “what happened is something else” (this wasn’t torture, but “moderate physical pressure”); “there was no alternative” (the “ticking bomb” made torture a necessary evil)."

According to Higgins, the UN General Assembly should establish “a force to be put together to guarantee humanitarian access" even if the Security Council vetoes the initiative.
The UN General Assembly should establish “a force to be put together to guarantee humanitarian access," Irish media reported Irish President Michael D. Higgins as saying on Saturday.
During an interview with Ireland’s public service broadcaster RTE, the president explained how the UN charter allows for the Secretary General to send armed forces out even if the Security Council vetoes the initiative.
“If a certain proportion of the committee of the General Assembly supported, even if the Security Council uses the veto to block it, the secretary general can call for a force to be put together to guarantee humanitarian access," he said.
"The main thing is, I think, for a global reassertion of the importance of the General Assembly,” he added.
We are in the realm of non-accountability,” Higgins said to RTE. “And we are in an extraordinary moment where you have three members of (the Israeli) cabinet who are interested explicitly in illegality, but they're not worried about international law.”
