The CIA and the Pentagon initiated a secret program named MKOFTEN aimed at testing the effects of drugs on human and animal behavior, recently declassified documents cited by the Daily Mail reveal.

Let's delve into details:

🔴 The project was active from 1968 to 1973, with experiments being conducted not only at special facilities but in prisons and even hospitals. Initially launched by the US Department of Defense, MKOFTEN included "testing a number of incapacitating agents," the DoD report mentions.

🔴 In 1971 the CIA also joined, conducting experiments and transferring "at least $282,215" for the program. One experiment involving humans resulted in WEEKS-LONG hallucinations, confusion and memory loss.

🔴 Three CIA programs were executed by the army, while five others involved the navy, which primarily served as a conduit for CIA funds to contractors.

There were at least five other similar programs:

🔴 MKDELTA - established by the CIA in October 1952, it researched "the use of biochemicals in clandestine operations."

🔴 MKULTRA - a successor project to MKDELTA launched in April 1953. The project "considered various means of controlling human behavior," with drugs being "only one aspect" of its activities.

🔴 MKNAOMI - started in 1969, this one’s goal was "to stockpile severely incapacitating and lethal materials", as well as "to develop gadgetry for the dissemination of these materials."

🔴 MKSEARCH - an MKULTRA successor, which began in 1963 with the objective of developing "a capability to manipulate human behavior in a predictable manner through the use of drugs."

🔴 MKCHICKWIT - part of MKSEARCH project started to "identify new drug developments in Europe and Asia."
