๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿš€๐Ÿค– Targeting the Digital Brain: Iran goes after the US war machineโ€™s data network

Recent strikes on three Amazon Web Services (AWS) data centers in Bahrain reveal a calculated, strategic shift in Iranโ€™s operational targeting, Fars News reported.

๐Ÿ’ฅ Iran has systematically targeted all three main AWS nodes in Bahrain across two stages: one in northern Bahrain during the 40-day war, another in eastern Bahrain on July 22, and a third in western Bahrain on July 24.

Amazon Web Services is the critical digital backbone of the US government, the Department of Defense, and the US intelligence community. Satellite imagery, drone feeds, signals intelligence, and radar outputs can be processed through such facilities before they ever reach a US commander.

๐Ÿ’ฌ โ€œIf a runway allows a fighter jet to take off, a data center allows that fighter jet to make decisions,โ€ the report explains.

With the US military increasingly relying on AI projects (like Stargate) and tech partnerships (like G42), data centers are now the engines of operational decision-making.

๐ŸŽฏ Bahrainโ€™s proximity to CENTCOM bases and regional communications networks makes it a low-latency, high-value node for US operational data processing in West Asia.

Even if AWSโ€™s distributed architecture prevents a total blackout, damaging these hubs forces the US to reroute processing loads. This increases response times, drains bandwidth, spikes costs, and degrades operational efficiency during a crisis.

It's interesting that Burnham's No10 North operations will be co-located with GCHQโ€™s North West operations at Heron House (Albert Square, Manchester city centre), which opened in 2019. Activities there include "intelligence, cyber, and science teams".

No10 North will form a key part of the Manchester Digital Campus that's been in planning for decades. Most of the "civil servants" who will be based at the campus will be in digital roles, notably developing AI "solutions".

The Government Digital Service (primarily focused on Digital ID systems development) will play a key part in the campus. It also facilitates the procurement of surveillance systems from companies like Palantir across UK government. (The Cabinet Secretary, Antonia Romeo, also helped fast-track Palantir's embedding in the NHS).

Many have noted that the establishment of No10 North happened very quickly after Burnham's appointment. But Manchester's role at the centre of centralised government snooping and surveillance is what it represents - as well as the repatriation of UK citizen data to CIA spin-out firms like Palantir.

The Server Farm Next Door: Datacenters - Health, Environment, and Privacy in the Age of AI

โ“Did you know:

๐Ÿ“Just one Datacenter can use the same amount of resources as a small city

๐Ÿ“It is estimated that one Datacenter can use as much as 2.5M gallons of water/day

๐Ÿ“The coolants used are toxic & difficult to remove from water that is often discharged into local lakes, rivers & streams.

'...The issue is too big to ignore. Rising up the prices for power and supply, all the while polluting or water and polluting our air.'
Hakeem Anwar, Above Phone

Hakeem sits down with WCH to expose the physical backbone of the surveillance economy: the server farms, the electromagnetic burden, and why reclaiming your digital sovereignty is now a necessity.

Not to do product placement but I also use an Above phone, which greatly reduces the government snooping.

It takes a while to get your head round it so I started using it in parallel to a normie phone until I got confident enough to just use the Above phone.

The guys at Above have been really good at helping me out figure their Graphene OS installed on the phone.

๐Ÿ’€๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ Newly-released Pentagon documents blow the lid off concealed US casualty counts in Iran warโ€™s opening act

What the Pentagon chose to withhold for months is now impossible to ignore, the data reveals the truth about the war's first weeks. At least 400 American soldiers were counted as casualties, some of them suffering critical, life-threatening wounds, with head trauma being the most prevalent injury, affecting at least 170.

The army had the most casualties: over 270, among them were 64 officers, two generals, and roughly 30% reservists.

๐Ÿ‘‰ The warโ€™s deadliest incident occurred on March 1, when an Iranian drone strike hit Kuwaitโ€™s operations center at Port Shuaiba, killing six American troops, after US generals allegedly ignored prior intelligence warnings about the vulnerability of the site.

CENTCOM has come under scrutiny for its limited disclosures. Two of the bloodiest days - 29 casualties on March 3 and 70 on March 18 - were never publicly detailed by the command, which has continued to release only monthly casualty totals.

Following Trumpโ€™s decision to end the truce on July 8, US forces have suffered more than 200 additional casualties and four more deaths in renewed strikes.
