The four days of intensive talks and meetings will combine the specifically diplomatic dimension of the visit with an ecclesial one, including encounters with the bishops and the Catholic community in the Russian Federation.This important mission will also have an ecumenical dimension, with meetings involving representatives of the Moscow Patriarchate.

The programme confirms the Holy See’s determination to continue along the path of dialogue, even during one of the most difficult periods for international relations worldwide."

I don't think there are many things more evil than what Andy Burnham did today: when you see two huge armies killing thousands and thousands of people on either side, to go to one side and give more weapons, which will surely not only be matched but easily doubled by the other side.

I can think of very few things more evil than that, apart from doing the same when there is only one army and a small resistance group, which Burnham is also doing in another geographical location.

We are really talking about one of the most evil people on Earth. Like all the other Prime Ministers who preceded him of course. The entire system needs to be changed, and in my view the position of Prime Minister should be abolished, nobody should ever be given so much power. Not Andy Burnham, nor anybody else.

The director of the CIA is in Moscow at exactly the same time that the Vatican is in Moscow, and while Burnham is in Kiev. To some, this is a coincidence, others may deduce that none of this bodes very well for Britain. It could be the biggest geopolitical mistake by Burnham so far.

Russia has recalled Ambassador Andrei Kelin from the United Kingdom after seven years in the post, The Guardian reports. He left the country on July 21, and Moscow has not yet named a successor.

A Russian Embassy representative told the paper that relations with London have deteriorated to an "unprecedentedly low level."

The recall comes as the United Kingdom continues supplying strike drones to Ukraine — drones reported to have hit several Russian oil refineries.

Contrary to some who comment on Russia without ever having been there, I actually worked there for a number of years, and absolutely loved Moscow. I loved both the place and the people, and found that it had regained all the positive attributes of the "West" in its post Soviet identity, that we ourselves in the West have lost. I also found that people were completely free to oppose government, and experienced many such examples. In many ways it is a model for what Europe could be under a different leadership than the current globalist one.
