The @gta_six marketing has been disappointing so far when you look at it this way.
Rockstar used to go all out. Both the GTA 4 and GTA 5 cover arts were revealed through giant painted murals, back when they were actually creative and took marketing seriously, instead of just dropping announcements on a newswire article and social media.

Today is the last Tuesday before Take-Two’s earnings call, but Rockstar has been favoring Thursday more recently, as the cover art reveal and pre-orders were both on a Thursday.
The game also launches on a Thursday (November 19).
This Thursday, August 6th (a day before the earnings call) will mark a significantly higher chance for a new announcement or trailer reveal.

Take-Two is now the largest public independent pure-play video game publisher, as EA went private today after being sold to Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund for $55 billion.
Ironically, EA offered to buy Take-Two for $2 billion in 2008 right before the GTA 4 launch, but Strauss Zelnick and the board of directors rejected the offer.
They believed the proposal substantially undervalued the company’s robust and enviable stable of game franchises, exceptional creative talent and strong consumer loyalty.
Zelnick recently stated that Take-Two’s ambition now is to become the No. 1 entertainment company on Earth.
