MOSCOW, March 10 - RIA Novosti. Russian President Vladimir Putin and South African President Cyril Ramaphosa in the conversation noted their readiness to expand cooperation in trade, economic and humanitarian spheres, the Kremlin press service reports.
It is noted that the conversation took place at the initiative of the South African side.
"The leaders exchanged congratulations on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and SOUTH AFRICA and confirmed their commitment to the further development of the Russian-South African strategic partnership. In particular, the readiness to expand cooperation in the trade, economic and humanitarian spheres, as well as in the fight against the spread of coronavirus infection, was noted. The importance of continuing interaction within the framework of BRIX and at other international venues," the report said.
Putin informed the President of South Africa about the reasons and goals of the special operation to protect Donbass and negotiations with representatives of the Ukrainian authorities.
