🇷🇺🇨🇳 Russia's President Vladimir Putin and President of the PRC Xi Jinping made a speech at the gala concert devoted to the 75th anniversary of Russia-China diplomatic relations and the opening of Russia and China’s years of culture.
💬 Vladimir Putin: Seventy five years is a short period of time by the yardstick of centuries-long history of Russia and China, but during this period we managed to achieve serious results, amass the priceless experience of close, goodneighbourly interaction that embraced joint successes and achievements as well as important historical lessons.
The main thing has always remained unchanged − the traditions of Russian-Chinese friendship, which has stood the test of time and continues to strengthen for the benefit of the peoples of our two countries.
❗️ We can be justly proud of the fact that Russian-Chinese relations have now reached the highest level in history and have acquired the character of genuine comprehensive partnership and strategic interaction.

Of course, we are looking at what is happening around the universally announced meeting in Switzerland, in Geneva. I believe this is the venue of the meeting. We are certainly not going to discuss any formulas about which we know absolutely nothing.
But as distinct from Ukraine, we have never rejected talks.
The goal of this event [in Geneva] is clear. They want to gather as many countries as possible, declare that everything has been agreed upon with everyone and then present it to Russia as a resolved issue, as an ultimatum. This will never happen.
• Sanctions imposed on third countries engaged in economic activities are doubly or triply illegitimate because sanctions are absolutely illegitimate when adopted without the approval of the UN Security Council.
• By undermining trust in the dollar for political reasons, the US authorities are weakening the main, the most powerful & important instrument of their might – the dollar itself. They are doing irreparable damage to themselves. Using one of popular sayings, they are quarrelling with their own bread & butter.

They also exchanged opinions on the current status and future prospects of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation. The foreign ministers of Russia and China acknowledged the joint efforts of member states in upholding peace and stability in Eurasia. 💬 Sergey Lavrov: It was not only British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak who said so. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz also pitched in, and from his lips it sounds even more phantasmagorical. It was the Americans who blew up the Nord Stream gas pipelines that were to provide for Germany’s further prosperity. You all know what is happening to the Germany’s economy now.
To say that Russia cut off gas… And no one of them even blushed. That’s the saddest thing. It means that the West has no politicians, who could talk on a pragmatic basis and factually. But they do not recognise facts, they twist them and are trying to prevent their population and electorate from obstructing this dead-end policy catastrophic for Europe.

В ходе беседы состоялся углубленный обмен мнениями о развитии ситуации в Сирии и вокруг нее в контексте роста региональной напряженности. Подробно рассмотрена проблематика продвижения политического урегулирования в САР. Были также затронуты вопросы, касающиеся гуманитарного положения в Сирии и перспектив ее постконфликтного восстановления.
В ходе беседы состоялся углубленный обмен мнениями о развитии ситуации в Сирии и вокруг нее в контексте роста региональной напряженности. Подробно рассмотрена проблематика продвижения политического урегулирования в САР. Были также затронуты вопросы, касающиеся гуманитарного положения в Сирии и перспектив ее постконфликтного восстановления.

🇷🇺🇧🇭 Russia's President Vladimir Putin met at the Kremlin with King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain, who arrived in Russia on an official visit.
The agenda included the current state of trade, economic, energy and humanitarian ties between Russia and Bahrain and the prospects for their expansion, as well as current international issues, including the Middle East, in view of Bahrain’s chairmanship of the Arab League.
💬 Vladimir Putin: Next year, we will mark 35 years of diplomatic relations between our countries. Over these years, we have made significant progress in building relations between our states. Our foreign ministries maintain regular contacts, and we take similar approaches on many issues on the international agenda.
Just recently, a week ago, you chaired the Arab League summit. I am certainly interested in hearing your opinion on the situation in the Middle East and the details of the corresponding discussion at the summit.
📈 Trade between Russia and Bahrain is at an early stage, but the trends are positive. However, the situation with investment is better: there are about 30 large projects underway, with a total worth of around $500 million.
At the same time, there is thriving cultural cooperation between our countries. This year, we will host Bahrain Days in Russia, and next year, as far as I know, our colleagues have agreed to hold Russian Seasons in your country.
Other humanitarian contacts are also expanding, primarily in education and science. They have great potential as well.
