Let's learn a few new words by looking at a couple of funny moments in the Russian language.

Did you know that the Russian word for "sock" is "no sock"?😁😁😁
Носок (nosòk) - sock

Now let's look at the words morning - утро(ùtro) , day - день(den') , evening - вечер(vècher), night - ночь(noch) and the words formed from them with the suffix "ник"

Утренник (ùtrennik) - morning event

Дневник (dnevnìk) - diary

Вечерник (vechèrnik) - usually a student who studies in the evening

Ночник (nochnìk) - night light

As you can see, the connections are few here 😁😁😁

Before, we looked at words that sound the same in English and Russian.
Now let's learn words that sound the same but have different meanings!😑😑😑

Фабрика(fàbrika) - it's not "fabric", the word translates to "factory"

Лист(list) - it's not "list", it can be translated as "leaf" or "sheet"

Лунатик(lunàtik) - if someone called you that, don't get offended, the translation of this word is "sleepwalker", not "lunatic"

Магазин(magazìn) - the accurate translation is "shop" or "store", not "magazine"

Патрон(patròn) - the accurate translation is "cartridge", not "patron"

There are not many words like this, don't forget them. If you know similar examples, share them with us in the comments😇😇😇
