πŸ“š Jonathan Wade Lightfoot Memorial Scholarship (Deadline: April 10, 2027)

πŸ€” Description:
Jonathan Wade Lightfoot Memorial Scholarship (Deadline: April 10, 2027)
Who Can Apply:

The Jonathan Wade Lightfoot Memorial Scholarship was created to honor the life and memory of our best friend, Jonathan, who passed away far too soon.
Jonathan was a veteran, a loyal friend, and someone who was supposed to be an important part of the future of our family’s wild game processing business, County Line Wild Game Processing. For years we talked about opening our own facility, and Jonathan was always part of those conversations β€” he was going to help run the shop and make it his β€œbaby.” After losing him, we felt an overwhelming pull to finally make that dream a reality.
We dedicate 20% of our profits to this scholarship fund, supporting veterans pursuing a college education in natural resource management, agriculture, animal science, environmental science, or related fields. Our hope is that it helps veterans build the next chapter of their lives while pursuing careers connected to agriculture, conservation, wildlife, and the outdoors.
Applicants must be U.S. veterans living in Texas who are currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program, and who are either studying or planning a career in natural resource management, agriculture, animal science, environmental science, or a closely related field. We are looking for someone who embodies the qualities that meant so much to Jonathan: loyalty, determination, humility, and a willingness to show up for others.

Submission: To apply, share how your own experiences with mental health, military service, agriculture, or the outdoors have shaped who you are and the career you hope to build, and upload a photo of yourself in uniform.
Deadline: April 10, 2027
Amount: $500

πŸ€” Description:
2026 Filipino-American Scholarship (Deadline: December 30, 2026)
Who Can Apply:

Filipinos have a long history and large presence in the United States, yet they remain underrepresented in many fields.
Only 37% of Filipinos in the US complete a Bachelor’s degree, and only 9% complete a postgraduate degree. These figures are even lower among U.S.-born Filipinos. A Harvard Kennedy report states that U.S.-born Filipinos are less likely to obtain a college degree compared to their Filipino immigrant counterparts and other U.S.-born Asian Americans.

This scholarship seeks to support any Filipino-American undergraduate student who has a record of community service.

Submission: To apply, write an essay answering the question:The Forgotten Island is set to bring a Filipino story and Filipino experiences to a broader audience. Its release offers an opportunity to reflect on the visibility of Filipinos and Filipino Americans in film, media, and public life.
