A tunnel diode or Esaki diode is a type of semiconductor diode that has effectively "negative resistance" due to the quantum mechanical effect called tunneling.
In electronics, Tunneling is known as a direct flow of electrons across the small depletion region from n-side conduction band into the p-side valence band. In a p-n junction diode, both positive and negative ions form the depletion region. Due to these ions, electric field is present in the depletion region. This electric field gives an electric force to the opposite direction of externally applied voltage.
As the width of the depletion layer reduces, charge carriers can easily cross the junction. Charge carriers do not need any form of kinetic energy to move. Instead, carriers punch through junction. This effect is called Tunneling and hence the diode is called Tunnel Diode.

It is very common to have a voltage stabilizer with refrigerators, air conditioners, televisions, furnace equipments, micro oven, music systems, washing machines, etc. The main intention behind the usage of voltage stabilizers is to protect the devices against voltage fluctuations.
This is because each and every electrical appliance is designed to operate under a specific voltage to give desired performance.
If this voltage is below or above certain value, the appliance would malfunction or might operate at worse condition or even it might get damaged.As the name suggests, a voltage stabilizer stabilizes or regulates the voltage if the supply voltage varies or fluctuates over a given range.For more details visit: https://www.electricaltechnology.org/2016/11/what-is-voltage-stabilizer-how-it-works.html

Millions of years of evolution have primed the brain to save your skin when the slightest danger threatens your existence. While using a power tool, a tiny wood chip flies toward your eye, one of your eyelashes will send a signal to your brain that make your eyelids shut in a flash fast enough to protect the eyesight. A tiny stimulus is provoking a much bigger and useful response. The same trick is at work in all kinds of machines, where sensors are ready to switch things on or off in a second using magnetic switches called RELAYS.A relay is an electromagnetic switch operated by a small electric current that can turn on or off a larger electric current. Sensors are sensitive pieces of electronic equipment and produce only small electric currents.Relays make it possible for small currents to activate larger ones. Relays can work either as switches or as amplifiers.For more details visit:https://electronics.howstuffworks.com/relay.htm

An oscilloscope is an electronic test instrument. It graphically indicates changes in the signal voltage, typically as a two-dimensional plot of one or more signals as a function of time. So basically, an oscilloscope shows waveforms on some form of display. Oscilloscopes show the change of an electrical signal over time, with time and voltage representing the X and Y axes respectively. The resulting waveform is similar to that of the ripples one sees on the surface of a pond when a stone is dropped into it. This waveform being displayed is used to make inferences about properties such as amplitude, frequency, rise time etc. Oscilloscopes derive their name from the fact that they are used to track/ view oscillations. To use an oscilloscope you connect the signal you want to study to the y-circuit and use the x-circuit to study how the signal varies over time.

The term thermistor comes from “thermal” and “resistor”. A thermistor is a type of resistor whose resistance is reliant on temperature. They’re made from metallic oxide which is moulded into a bead, disk, or cylindrical shape and then enclosed with epoxy or glass.
Thermistors don’t work well with extreme temperatures, but they are perfectly suited for measuring the temperature at a certain point. They’re precise when they’re used within a limited temperature range i.e. within 50 °C of the target temperature.Thermistors are easy to use, relatively cheap, and durable. They’re commonly used in digital thermometers, in vehicles to measure oil and coolant temperatures, and in household appliances such as ovens and refrigerators and are preferred for applications that require heating or cooling protection circuits for safe operation.

Flipflop is a circuit that has two stable states and can be used to store state information.Its a bistable multivibrator and is a clocked device.
Basically,it has two inputs.One is a control input, for example, for a D flipflop control input is D and for T flipflop it is T.Other input is the clock.Considering positive edge triggered flipflops, when the clock is not positive output value is held i.e it doesn't change.
It has two outputs say Q and Q’.Thus,it always gives one bit of information as output.Q’ is the negation of Q,which means you have only two possible outputs:Q=0,Q’=1 else if Q=1,Q’=0.Second input don't get any additional storage,as it is always is the negation of the first.

An LDR is a component that has a (variable) resistance that changes with the light intensity that falls upon it. This allows them to be used in light sensing circuits. The most common type of LDR has a resistance that falls with an increase in the light intensity falling upon the device. The resistance of an LDR may typically have the following resistances:
Daylight= 5000Ω
Dark= 2000000Ω. The working principle of an LDR is photoconductivity, which is nothing but an optical phenomenon. When the light is absorbed by the material then the conductivity of the material enhances. When the light falls on the LDR, then the electrons in the valence band of the material are eager to the conduction band. But, the photons in the incident light must have energy superior to the bandgap of the material to make the electrons jump from one band to another band.

Have you all wondered what's that spring hanging on those transmission towers and curious to know about it? This short content will give you a clear idea about what's that stuff and how it works. It is SURGE ARRESTER a protective device for limiting voltage on equipment by discharging or bypassing surge current.The purpose of a surge arrestor is to protect insulation/components from high DV/DT that peak at instantaneous values that are in excess of the breakdown of the insulation or component. Lightning is one common cause of voltage surges. Another common cause is switching in an inductive circuit.A surge arrester works by diverting the extra voltage into the earth wire, rather than flowing through the electronic devices, while at the same time allowing the normal voltage to continue along its path.
