On a serious note though, What you should do on the exam day?

Both IELTS & SAT

most importantly, chill the f out.

You don't need to do practice tests. you could barely get +1 score in 2 months and you can't change anything in one day

- Get the best sleep of your life. Watch movies. talk to your friends. anything that lifts your mood. You don't need a speaking mock exam or anything

- have some caffeine if you need to. don't eat fastfood, bread or anything that will make you feel sleepy

You just have to be in your top physical and mental form

HOW TO BE CONSISTENT

There is a popular fitness quote by Fred DeVito that applies perfectly to the studying trap you mentioned: "If it doesn't challenge you, it doesn't change you."

When learning a language, if you only ever drill the vocabulary and concepts you’ve already mastered, you’re essentially lifting the same 5-pound mental weight every day. Doing the easy stuff feels incredibly productive because you get all the answers right, but it's an illusion. It gives you a false sense of accomplishment while keeping you completely stagnant.

To actually get BETTER, you have to force yourself to stumble through the difficult, unfamiliar material.

However, there is a hard limit to how much of that difficult work you can actually handle.

You cannot stay deeply focused on the truly frustrating, challenging parts of learning for hours at a time. Your cognitive battery drops fast when you're doing heavy lifting. If you try to force it, your focus will scatter, you won't retain the information, and you'll dread studying the next day.

To stay consistent long-term, you have to know your limits and use a timer. Give yourself a strict 25 or 30 minutes of deep, intense focus to tackle the hardest material. Once that timer rings, you are completely done with the hard stuff for the day. If you still want to interact with the language after the timer goes off, switch over to something passive, like watching a movie, so you end the session feeling successful rather than exhausted.

To be consistent, you need to be in a flow state.

However, you cannot stay in this state for too long.

The task at hand should be challenging enough to keep you engaged, but not so difficult that it causes anxiety. At the same time, it should not be too easy, as this can lead to boredom.

To enter the flow state - to have peak focus

is a phrase that you can also use in speaking

Apparently it's true that some people cannot watch a tv show these days, let alone a 3 hour movie.

idp or bc?
Let's settle it. BC or IDP?

First things first, and I need you to hear this: it's the SAME test. Same band descriptors, same certificate, same passages, and universities don't care which one you sat with. So anyone telling you "IDP marks easier" or "BC is harder" is honestly chatting nonsense. The real difference is the experience on the day.

British Council
βž– You choose your speaking format and time. This is probably the most notable advantage. Morning person? Book the morning. Don't want speaking straight after three hours of Listening, Reading and Writing when your brain is fried? Sorted. You're in control.
βž– Friendly invigilators. From my own experience they're lovely, mostly female. Chilled, polite, no feeling like you're in a police interrogation. When you're already nervous, that genuinely makes a difference.
πŸ“ Two locations: Yunusabad (Agrar) and Stars University.

IDP
βž– The marketing is unreal. Fair play to them, they're everywhere.
βž–Loads of niners. You've seen the posts: 9.0, 9.0, 9.0. Does that mean YOU'LL walk out with a 9 if you book there? No chance. The 9 comes from the person, not the logo on the building.
πŸ“ Two locations, both in Chilanzar. Handy if you live that side of the city.
⚠️ Higher chance of a non-native examiner. Before anyone panics: every examiner is trained and certified on the exact same criteria and gets checked regularly. It shouldn't change your band at all. But if hearing a native accent helps you relax, it's worth knowing.

So which one should you pick?

Pick the one where YOU feel most comfortable on the day. Closest to home, a slot that suits you, an environment you won't freak out in. Your band comes down to your preparation, not BC vs IDP.
